Thanks amersall. One thing I also am worried about if I go ahead down this route is whether it will affect the cashback feature of the loan if am unsuccessful. The cashback would be approx £16,000, but from what you have said I could stand to get substantially more than this if my claim is successful. I see a lot of firms offering no win no fee services but would take up to 25% on a successful claim. Is this something I could handle myself? Thanks again for any advice received.

Sorry to hear that Showergirl. They will probably leave it to the last minute anyway. Lets keep fingers crossed that they look at this in the next week.
I have rang the FOS and they have told me to send in my complaints form now, instead of waiting until next week.

They also told me to ring A&L and let them know that I have done this to see if this will help push them along.

I have done this but will also send them a letter telling them I have sent off the forms to the FOS

dont pay anyone for something you can do your self!!! we will all help you with this, just ask, the cash back fp offer after 5 years is your ppi payment back, but you will still pay the ppi payment for the remaining term of the loan!! go for mis sell and you will be laughing all the way to the bank, your loan will be recalculated as if the ppi was not taken, that will reduce your monthly payment . some people have not got the cash back as fp use every trick in the book so they dont have to give it you back, good luck with this and keep us posted x

good luck with this, and hope your friend doesnt have too long to wait, its a good job you know what you are doing isnt it, or your friend would be non the wiser about claiming. just like a lot of other people.i wonder how many people are still in the dark about the mis selling of ppi? but the banks are getting what they deserve now, POWER TO THE PEOPLE lol
  • Hi,

I sent out 3 letters re my PPI on my Mint card, Barclaycard and Capital One. The only one that has replied so far has been Barclaycard saying they are sorry I am unhappy and will try and resolve the matter by 31/07/09. Capital One were one of the companies that were fined for their PPI thing and they havent even replied yet! Cheek!

I also still have to send my bank loan one out although if I do my bank wont try and cancel my account with them will they or try and make me pay the loan back all at once will they? Just worried about that.

Ive also seen a few companies advertised about getting your ppi back and they dont charge anything at all and claim their fees from the bank they say, are these ok? Someone also sent me a private message on here with a link to one of these companies, do you think someone from these companies goes on here chasing for business? Anyone else had any private messages?

Anyone had any joy with Barclaycard paying them back?

Good luck to everyone and fingers crossed we all get justice! :T

I am just really peed off at the way she has been treated. They keep telling her that they will look into it and don't.

I just wish I had the time today to get the forms sent off but I have to go to work. Roll on next week

i know the fos are really busy but sometimes the delays are too much, but if we get a win i think its worth the wait, and we are all wiser and better off at the end of it, just wish the initial process could be speeded up

It is annoying as A and L were given a massive fine and promised to pay everyone missold their PPI back but it was for telephone sales between certain dates. I assume they are dealing with these first and have a big backlog perhaps. What date was your friends showergirl? Was it a telephone sale?

At least by next week she can take it to the FOS and I bet they will pay up before adjudication then.
