 Hoping someone can give me some advice on how to deal with these muppets!!

We took a secured loan stupidly for 25yrs in 2006. I told the advisor on the telephone at Picture that I did not need the insurance as I had adequate insurance that would cover the mortgage and loan should anything happen to either of us. They talked me into doing this insurance were you get so much back in the 3rd year 4th year and 5th year in theory you get half the premium which i must add was £11k. My hubby was made redundant and we missed a payment we caught up and there has been no other problems. Ive now been told we can not have the cashback because we missed a payment. Can they do that it seems really unfair. I have contacted them and they say they have listened to a recording of the conversation at the time and i do clearly say that i did not need the insurance they have confirnmed that in a reply. WHAT CAN I DO????

Do you want to claim for mis selling? when did you speak to them?
Have you checked your policy does it say about missing payments?

If you want to claim mis selling with Picture you will need to contact the FSCS as Picture that sold this to you are in liquidation and may not be able to pay out on claims.

They have been renamed as far as I am aware, will this make a difference? I cant find anywhere about the insurance being invalid if you miss a payment. I feel like the whole loan was mis sold i only wanted to do it for 10yr and no ins and ended up with it for 25 yrs life sentance and PPI Insurance

Although they have been renamed you cant go after these for mis selling. Call the FSCS and they will send out the forms to fill in for mis selling.

  • Hi,
was hoping for some advice please.
I currently have two loans with Lloyds TSB which i have claimed my PPI on so i know i cannot attempt to claim the PPI back, but over the last seven years i have taken out PPI with several loans before re-financing each time. Would i be able to claim back the PPI off those loans or because i have claimed on my current loans, would that go against me??

Depends on your reasons for mis selling really. Shouldn't go against you if you have a strong case
