PPI Reclaiming Discussion part 4

I just need to keep the momemtum going! The FOS are so discouraging. I really need to issue First Plus with an access to information demand because I am not sure I have all the paperwork. They are trying to pass this off to another company saying they only brokered the loan and PPI. Shouldnt they tell me that in some way if they then expect to be able to deny responsibility? Is there a standard letter on this site to make a request for information? Cheers for the support It means a lot!!0

Can someone help please?
Took out a secured loan in sept 2006. Went through a broker (norton finance) but got loan with Endeavour Personal Finance. We have recently discovered (through a letter sent from Endeavour informing of interest rate cuts) that we are paying around 40.00 per mth for PPI.
When we took out the loan i remember having comversation with norton about PPI on the loan and told them it wasnt needed as we both had secure jobs and was told that we could opt out but we would be paying a higher int. rate as we would be classed as 'at risk'.
Also we were never asked any questions about our circs. so dont feel we were sold it our best interests. We also never received any terms and cond. for this insurance. We were never told about any exclusions the PPI may have or were we told it only covered my hubby and not me!(found this out today).
Not sure if we would have case for mis-selling or not..............
any advice appreciated.
Thanks
Hi there
You go for it hun.
You do have a good case here, tell them exactly what you have told us, they have 8 weeks to respond in full.
I had a loan from Endeavour in 2004, this one is still ongoing, but I wish you luck with yours, good luck.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Please can I just post a word of warning , If you do cancel your PPI or have it removed because you won your case, if you do not have alternative cover with work or whatever, look into getting either income protection or cheaper PPI that you choose and covers your needs.DS1 12/10/04

Hi Steven
Contact them to ask if they are able to provide a copy of the agreement, if they make a charge for this its normally a £1 to what I know of.
Some though may provide this for free, check first.
I see you have already complained to the lender and they have done what most lenders have done, passed you back to the broker.
Keep copies of your letters, and now write to the broker, tell them you have already wrote to the lender in regards to your complaint and get a copy of your letter you sent the lender, if you kept this and enclose the letter to the broker, it may be an idea to also get a copy done of the response letter from the lender so you can also enclose this, which will show the broker you have already gone that direction and the lender response.
Let us know.
Now if it comes to it where no information of your loan is provided, you can then as an option request for a Subject access request.
Hopefully you will not require this if you have the information given to you by just requesting this without charge at first, good luck.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
