I have also heard some companies use all the payment to pay off the PPI loan first but not sure how true this is? xx

    Hi Guys,

Well I started claiming back my PPI with BarclayCard way back in Feb 2009. After eight weeks they told me that they could not resolve my claim, so I wrote of a complaint to the FSO. About a week after doing that I got a form to fil in from Barclaycard, nothing to do with FSO as they wrote to say I had to send a copy of the last letter from Barclaycard.

Well on Saturday I got a letter from Barlcaycard to say that they can refund me £8,547 !!!:grin::grin:

A result. This is a big plus to help claim down my balances.

Congratulations John, what a great result.

    Hi all,

I'm in the process of drafting my first letter in an attempt to reclaim many years of PPI payment.
Before I send my letter off, I'm a little concerned if the whole process will have a negative impact on my credit rating.
I've been a customer of NatWest for most of my life and my Mastercard was with them. I'm still a customer so if I am to go ahead to try and reclaim PPI, can and will NatWest take action to impact me negatively in some way?
If not then I'll go ahead.
Also, do I need to send my first letter to my local branch or do I need to send to another address?

    Most appreciative of any responses.

    Hi there

I would not worry about this, you were out of pocket due to this, and your only rightfully reclaiming what is yours, it should not affect your rating, I've never known it to.

In regards of where to send your letter, if they have a separate complaints dept send to them, or check the address thread here to make sure, good luck.;)

Remember to post by recorded delivery, this is your proof of posting, they have 8 weeks in full to respond.

I'll send off a letter today. I've had my card and been paying PPI for 11 years!

hi pinknico, you are right. the initial payments are to clear the ppi first then the loan, this is disgusting practice and i am glad a stop has been put on this

reclaiming ppi does not affect your credit rating, when you win your case the loan is put back in the position it was when the ppi was taken out, they do not do credit check for this either

Well if they have paid all payments towards PPI and all these should be refunded to me then I will be a very Happy Girl if I win my claim:D

But I agree I am glad they have stopped this practice.
