    Hi Guys,

I've had several PPI policies as part of loans now settled which endded in the last 6 years but I dont have the account numbers.

Does anyone know how I can go about claiming?

    Cheers,

    Jim.

    Hi Jim

As Maxdp says you can request for a Subject access Request (SAR), where they supply information on your account going back as far as 6 years if living in England and Wales and am aware its 5 years in Scotland, there is a charge of £10 for this payable by postal order or cheque payment and they must comply by 40 days.
    Post by recorded delivery.

    Link here to SAR template:

If you no account number for them to track this down, either check out old bank statements, where this was paid on a monthly basis, if paid by direct debit, you can track down your account number on the old paper statements, but if you bank online you can check this way also.

If not when requesting for your details, write in as much as possible, if your address was different then, and any surname you may have been under, also write in your date of birth.;)

If you just want the CCA (Copy of your credit agreement), again add those details and enclose just a £1 in postal order or cheque payment, they have 12 days to supply this to you.

Post all letters by recorded delivery.

In regards of reclaiming on PPI, here is the link with templates, when your ready please feel free to ask for help.

    Hellooo everyone

I'm just planning ahead here and not wanting to do it yet.. (I think :rotfl:)

I'm doing my own DMP .. and am in the process of setting all that stuff up and running.
I have (the other day) requested CCAs.

When it comes to PPI... I know I have it with my HSBC Loan (it was front loaded at about £1500~ i think) .. and I know there WAS a PPI on my Capital One card. (i dont think I ever had it on the others.. tho not 100% sure)

Soo.. (when i am ready) .. Can I still claim the PPI I had paid to Capital One, even though I got them to stop it about 18mths ago? ...

and.. Having sent my CCA requests.. (to 10 of my 12 creditors) Will PPI info come back on any of that? ... Or does that only show up on a SAR?

If so.. (bearing in mind I am still at the start of my DMP) .. When should I request SARs?

Oo hi up there Di!! xxx :)

WOW, its soooo good to see you here.......:A:D, how are you hunni?

Right well first of all do not worry if your at the start of your DMP, or when you have started this, it makes no difference whatsoever, so do not worry.

    Right.....
The answer is "yes" you can still reclaim on the Cap one credit card PPI also your other finances in regards of PPI.
No matter if cancelled or not.

PPI should show on the CCA but that does not matter, and generally also in SAR documents, this again does not matter.

You can request you SAR absolutely anytime when you want to, but bear in mind there is a charge of £10 for this by either postal order or cheque payment, they have 40 days to comply.

In regards of reclaiming, you do not actually need this paperwork, although it will come in handy later on to back your case if needed, just as long as you know you were paying out for this.

In the post this week was OH last Halifax loan reclaim which was a fantastic £5429.61 :T:T:T It's a live loan so amount repaid on outstanding balance but wow! I wrote to them in December and it's the only creditor to pay up after a few letters for OH being self employed. If only the others would play so nice too!

I really want to thank you guys really for what the help and support you have given me. You really have made a difference.

    Hi,

In May 2004 I took out a loan with First Plus for (around) 35000. At the time I was advised t o take out the ppi and took them up on the offer. I believe I was missold this because they didn't ask about pre existing conditions, didn't tell me it would be added to the loan (currently standing at 54k) and didn't tell me it would only last for 5 years (its a 25 year loan). The only mention of 5 years was 'if you don't claim in 5 years we'll give you 10k back', no other ifs, buts or maybes.

Well now the 5 years is up, and they wrote to me recently to advise me that I have 1 month (from the expiry date 1/6/09) to reclaim my 10'000 pounds. My question is, can I reclaim this money (i think they may turn me down because I missed one payment - something they never mentioned in the original call but detailed in the letter they sent) and still reclaim back the interest etc etc.

I'm not sure which way to go. If i reclaim my 10k and they actually do pay me out - does that mean I can't claim back the rest of the money owed.

Any help would be most welcome.

    Thanks

    Ann
hi there. first plus are in the habit of not paying up, and as you missed a payment they are likely to tell you take a hike. if i were you i would write to them using the template letter off this site and go for mis sell, they did not tell anyone that the ins was put on at the beginning and you pay that for the entire loan term or that you were only insured for the first 5 years, even if you do get the 10,000 back , you must realise you will still be paying for a ppi you have not got!! if you go mis sell and win (at the moment that is very possible) you will have the total ppi amount taken off the loan, the ppi payments you have made to date you will get back plus 8% interest on those payments. and your loan repayment will go down by the ppi amount (have a look at your agreement and see what you are paying a month just for ppi) i hope this helps, some people havent had to go to fos with fp so you might be one of the lucky ones, and even if you have to go to fos and it takes a while trust me you will be laughing all the way to the bank, any further advice please dont be afraid to ask, they are wonderful people on here and you will get all the help you need, good luck ( not sure if you will have a problem as it was 2004 but see what fp say first then come back on and let us know)
