PPI Reclaiming Discussion part 4

After several letters and a lot of too-ing and fro-ing, I have finally been told by Ulsterbank, GE Money (Burtons) and Alliance and Leicester that I am entitled to no repayments of missold PPI . The Alliance and Leicester have even concocted a story of a phone call from me agreeing to pay PPI on the 24th July 2003
. Now i cant remember back that far but I do know that that was the day I returned home from a two week holiday
. They are all saying go away pretty much. Has anyone else encountered problems from any of these groups? And if so, how did they sort them out? Any help on this would be gratefully appreciated.

Hi there
Sorry to hear this.
Was this their final response?
If not then write back for them to reconsider this, tell them you will appreciate having your complaint reconsidered due to the reasons of your first letter, and if they do not resolve your case, you will take up further advice and possible further action on the matter.
If you've no paperwork, you can always request a Subject access Request (SAR), they have 40 days to comply, but there is a charge of £10 payable by either postal order or cheque payment.
Post by recorded delivery and link to template here, good luck.;)

I'm sure others will post up who have had dealings with these companies with hopefully some useful advice for you. XThe one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

Ask A&L for a copy of the recording or a transcript of the recording as part of the SAR request Di speaks of.
GE money are really sh1te. My dad had a comet card underwritten by them and my mate a Debenhams card owned by them too. Dad is struggling to resolve he has ended up with about 5 account numbers and no one knows what the hecks going on. GE will cave if you keep on at them (and know what account number you are on lol). If GE have sent their final response bang the complaint to the fos. GE have already been fined for miss selling. My mate had to take it to the FO but they paid out before getting as far as an adjudicator. It took few months from submission with the FO.
All companies say no at first hoping you will give up. Dont!! Most of them now have things in place to investigate and settle if genuine ie RBS, HFC, Natwest and Welcome for definate i know of....MY Successes = RBS PPI, RBS bank charges, Aqua PPI, Aqua cc charges, HFC PPI, Welcome Finance PPI, Blackhorse PPI Mums Ongoing= Swift Advances PPI, London Scottish PPI, Blackhorse chgs, GE money pyts missing

Hi again Egg have rejected the adjudicators findings so its off to the Ombudsman. Anyone know the time scale before i get a decision ??
I'd be interested in hearing this as well as I have 2 cases re Egg with FOS. The 1st one Egg said that they would cough up before FOS investigated. Was told I would have to wait upto 12 weeks, we're up to week 11 now and still haven't heard a dickie bird:mad: The other case was upheld by the adjudicator and he wrote to Egg giving them 2 weeks to reply. A month later they still haven't replied to the FOS. Fos say that they are doing this quite a bit lately. He has given them another few days to reply and if they don't it goes up to the Ombudsman which will mean more time as, as we all know there is a backlog of cases. Looks like Egg are playing hard ball.0 -
Hi there.;)
Not sure in regards of loans.co.uk, but mine have been moved on from the adjudicator to the ombudsman twice, the ombudsman will tends to mostly go along with the adjudicator's decision, its very rare to what I know of that they do not.
Timescales can vary but we're going into June now next week, give them a call or send them an email at the end of next week to find out if there are any updates or the progression of your case, if your not sure who the ombudsman is, ask the adjudicator, they should be able to check on this for you, good luck.;)
Thank you di as always you have been very helpfull. thanks again... Jules x :smileyhea:beer::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::T:j:AI have 2 PPI claims all being dealt with by FOS could do with a win. I also have 1 PPI claim with FSCS because company gone bankrupt.
I have claim for bank charges on-hold for 3year
Good-luck all

My claim against Loans.co.uk went to the FOS last August. I had a letter from ajudicator saying that he up held my claim and was laons.co was given till the 14th May to reply but they didn't. I emailed the adjudicator who said that I should here more in the next month from the ombudsman... has any-one got to this stage and if the ombudsman agrees with adjudicator could you tell how long they usually give loans.co to pay back PPI etc? :smileyhea:kisses2::beer:
My claim against Loans.co.uk has been with the FOS since January 2008, was upheld by the adjudicator but rejected by Loans.co.uk so was passed to the Ombudsman last June/July. I emailed regarding experiencing hardship just before Christmas but am STILL waiting for a final decision!! I"ve emailed and telephoned numerous times but haven't had a response by email and only one call was returned. I wrote to them and received an 11 word reply just confirming receipt of my letter!! I finally spoke to someone last week who, on looking at my case, stated that not many people have been waiting as long as me but they're busy and hopefully I should hear soon and my financial circumstances have been noted!!!! To say I'm frustrated is an understatement - I'm beginning to get really annoyed, mainly because of the lack of communication. I've gone beyond worrying about being in default on a loan and credit card payments now!
Incidentally, Di and so many others on these boards are fantastic and really keep my hopes up!! Hope you get a decision soon.0 -

Hi there
If you need help with going through calculations please feel free to post in the above reclaiming discussion thread, I am sure someone will take a look at them for you.
Turbo when he has time will more than likely be happy to take a look.
I agree there are many addresses to this company, but hopefully someone can confirm which one, maybe you could ask this on the success thread also above, as there are many there who have had success with these.;)
Natwest
Registered Office
135 Bishopsgate
LONDON
EC2M 3UR
We have since been made an offer from RBS for
Loan 1 £616.30 (this was repayed early)
Loan 2 £750.00
They said that they have not been able to uphold our concerns but as a gesture of goodwill and without any admission of liability they have made the above offers.
They said we can go to the ombudsman if are not satisfied.
Not sure what to do now. Sorry this is a long post i thought i would try to get all the details i could.
Thanks in advance. Officially Debt Free Nov 2012 :beer:0 -

Hi
How are you?
Did anyone have a look at your calculations after?
As there is a difference and this is their final offer, I would personally myself go to the FOS now, but its entirely up to you hun, depending on how you feel about this.
If you don't mind waiting with the FOS and not in a hurry for the money now, maybe it will be worth your while going to the FOS, but wait for others opinions on this as well, good luck hun and well done for a start.:T:beer:The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

So sorry to hear it is taking so long... I know my claim has only just been up-held by the adjudicator 6 weeks ago but mine to has been with FOS a year. I emailed the Adjudicator today and he said I had still not been assigned a Ombudsman due to the so many claims and the pending back log...
He said that in the mean time I could contact him should I need to.
Sounds like I am up for yet another long wait too. In the mean time I bet Loans.co.uk are happy they don't have to pay out yet. Wouldn't suprise me if they don't go bankrupt whilest we are wiating thats what happened to another claim I had against Scottish London, (with that case after 1 year of waiting for FOS to make decission it then got passed to FSCS who have also now had info nearly 6 months and still no were near coming to decission...And when I tried to claim Bank Charges they put claims on hold just has mine went to Court- and still waiting 3years and 6months down the line.... Think I give up hoping to recieve anything back as I neverhave much luck).
And they make out claiming back these charges are easy...
Anyway thats my moan for today...
Good luck to you EllBee:rotfl::rotfl::A:AI have 2 PPI claims all being dealt with by FOS could do with a win. I also have 1 PPI claim with FSCS because company gone bankrupt.
