Hi soon, have you had a payout yet from black horse. I am also waiting, FOS sent me a letter around 20th March saying BH would pay up plus £200 compo & to give them upto 12 weeks. That time runs out on the 20th June but i suspect BH still won't pay out & e'll have to report them to FOS. I'll keep you updated, please keep me updated on your progress. Regards, SUFC

    Hi there

How are you? and I think I can remember something along these lines.;)

So a fresh letter was sent to Lloyds wasn't it?

Lloyds take forever anyway, and as they do have 8 weeks which they are entitled to, they will more than likely leave it until last minute anyway, it may be worth giving them a quick call and see what they say, if they are not dealing with your complaint then I would then continue with the FOS and hope they will consider with reason your complaint.;)
You did post by recorded delivery didn't you?

Good luck and please let us know how you get on.

Hey Di, Im good thanks, how are you? Still fighting the good fight I see, always helping everyone out on here, youre a true :A

Aaaanyway... Yep fresh letter, basically I want them to reissue a final response so I can go to the FOS with it. Lloyds never seem to be that co-operative though!! Yes did send recorded so we know it definately got there. We'll wait it out for a few more weeks then continue with Ombudsman then. Thanks for replying xx

Credit card complaints up by a third/FOS

    http://www.thisismoney.co.uk/credit-and ... _id=9&ct=5

    28 May 2009

Complaints over credit cards, loans and payment protection insurance (PPI) to the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) increased over the past year, with a higher number of disputes going in favour of the complainant.

Pay up: Credit card companies decided to pay out rather than explain their decisions.

The number of new complaints over the past year were up 4%, to a record 127,471, while the FOS decided on a record number of complaints at 114,000, a 14% increase on last year, it said in its annual review.
Of these, over half, at 57% went in favour of the consumer – a 22% increase on last year.

Sir Christopher Kelly, chairman of the Ombudsman service, said the increase in complaints could be put down to the recession: 'For us, it has involved dealing with a significant increase in the number of complaints arising from the impact of the worsening financial climate.

'As businesses tighten their belts - and the credit crunch leads to increased financial difficulty for many consumers - we are gearing up to deal with further volatility in complaint volumes.'

Credit card complaints rose by just under a third on last year. Some of these concerned the standard £12 charge for late payment of bills, or spending over one's credit limit, but many more were based on the unexpected increase in card interest rates over the past year – which in some cases reached 10%.

In a This is Money poll carried out earlier this year, a third of respondents said their lender had raised their credit card rate by 0-2% over the past year. However, a significant minority of 23% of respondents said their rate had been raised by 8-10%.

Almost all of the credit card companies involved decided to settle their collective 19,000 complaints rather than answer the FOS' questions on the rationale behind the interest rate increases.

Doug Taylor of consumer group Which? said: 'This could be just the tip of the iceberg as many people give up at the first hurdle rather than going to the Ombudsman.'

Complaints about current accounts dropped by almost two thirds over the year to 13,682, due to the ongoing waiver at the centre of the Office of Fair Trading's High Court battle with eight High Street banks.

The waiver allows banks to put any complaints about expensive bank charges – normally the mainstay of complaints about current accounts – on hold until the end of the case, which is not expected to finish before the end of next year.

The number of complaints about PPI tripled over the past year, although the vast majority of cases, at 89%, were in favour of the customer. The sale of PPI, expensive and often unnecessary insurance on loan agreements, has been severely restricted following a recent decision by the City watchdog the Financial Services Authority and the Competition Commission.

If the restrictions come into play, the number is expected to fall in coming years. However, Barclays bank is appealing the judgment, which means complaints may yet stay constant.

Although disputes about mortgage endowment policies were down by almost half on last year, as expected, the FOS saw an 11% rise in new complaints about mortgages. These were mainly related to repossessions and lenders' handling of arrears.

My claim against Loans.co.uk went to the FOS last August. I had a letter from ajudicator saying that he up held my claim and was laons.co was given till the 14th May to reply but they didn't. I emailed the adjudicator who said that I should here more in the next month from the ombudsman... has any-one got to this stage and if the ombudsman agrees with adjudicator could you tell how long they usually give loans.co to pay back PPI etc? :smileyhea:kisses2::beer:

    Hi there.;)

Not sure in regards of loans.co.uk, but mine have been moved on from the adjudicator to the ombudsman twice, the ombudsman will tends to mostly go along with the adjudicator's decision, its very rare to what I know of that they do not.
Timescales can vary but we're going into June now next week, give them a call or send them an email at the end of next week to find out if there are any updates or the progression of your case, if your not sure who the ombudsman is, ask the adjudicator, they should be able to check on this for you, good luck.;)

Recieved a letter yesterday offering £400 full & final settlement as a goodwill gesture and with no admission of liability whatsoever.:confused:My loan was over a period of 46 months £13,900 payments started at £278? a month I think, afetr 2 years I paid a lump sum to the loan and reduced the payments to £90pm that eventually went up to £101pm,I paid the last payment in April of £63.On the letter it states I agreed with everything and signed the credit agreement but I dont remember and they are saying I recieved PPI booklet.

They are also saying that it was a single premium added to the loan as a lump sum.I do not have any the original paperwork although I did contact them last night and they said that they will have to check the archives or GE Money who was the lender and see if they have a copy of it and they will send it to me maybe next week.

Also that it was explained to me what I would expect if I had to settle the loan early but that I was not in a position to do so which I dont believe at the time of taking the loan no I didn`t know that I could pay it earlier due to my circumstances.

Do I except the offer? I dont know what is for the best but I dont think £400 sounds right.
