    hi all guess who!!!!
i have sent off ppi claim to ocean finance-re- GE MONEY.
i have followed the template about 1st claim to capitol one, but i don't have no paperwork or account numbers. tryed to phone them but its automated and need a/c number to speak to anyone.

do you think this will be ok without the number? i think the a/c was in 2005/2006.

    cheers

Hi there Pammie, its good to hear from you.;)

    Good luck with Ocean Finance.

    In regards of Cap One:
Have you any old bank statements, or do you bank online, if so you can always try tracking your account number down if you paid monthly out of your own bank, the account number is normally shown on the payments, if not you can always try requesting for a copy of your agreement which should take about 12 days to arrive to you.
But you will need to write in your full name, if the surname was different then and the address, also write in your DOB, they should be able to track this down, but well worth checking on old bank statements first.;)

If you request for a copy of your agreement, enclose a £1 postal order or cheque payment for this request and as always post by recorded delivery.

Yes I believe Cap One where one of those who were fined for mis selling PPI.;)

Good luck Pammie, hope to hear from you again soon.:D;)X

How long ago did you take out the loan with First National - was it over 6 years ago?

Apologies for delay (laptop broke!!!!!) Anyway, yes the loan was indeed from a while back over 6 years ago.

    Any ideas ?
If you see a penny, pick it up, all day long you'll have good luck !!!!!! :D

As always thanks gumbi, wrote to my MP who has also written to the FSCS so I hope that makes the hinge a bit noisier! :D
Is notification from legal the default bit or the claim criteria bit and does it make a difference?

It's a bit complex but from what I understand FSCS are satisfied that Picture are unable to meet any claims, (hence pending default) however they need to have least one vaible claim against them in order to place them into default and begin looking at individual cases.

The legal dept is looking at setting the 'benchmark' by which the FSCS can determine if they have at least one claim.

Basically they're looking to set the goalposts so that they don't keep moving for each individual case. The delay isn't because there is any doubt there there will be a viable case it's very simply a matter of workload and the interminable complexity of legal speak.

I understand that there are over 600 cases on the waiting list and the FSCS say that they would hope to clear these within 6 months of Picture being placed into default.

As the Picture PPI is almost exclusively Single Premium the chances are that over 90% of these claims will be upheld so it's defintaley worth the wait.

More will follow as I have it...

Have recently submitted a claim to Egg for a loan taken out in 2004 which included PPI... using Martin's initial letter!

Received a letter back saying that it's being investigated and they will reply within the required eight weeks.

    Will keep you posted!

    Thanks!

It seems like HFC/Beneficial Finance seems to be laying down...???

After sucessfully winning the PPI and 8% interest from a previous account with them I thought I'd try this second account I was paying.

Before I went on a weeks holiday I transferred the balance of the account to a 0% credit card. When they acknowleged the account had been paid off I sent off the template letter recorded delivery. I came home the offer letter with a figure which matched what I calculated. Instead of the "we are investigating your claim letter", whole lot done within a couple of weeks

Im very much now in the attitude of no matter what company, how big or small the claim is, its worth a try.

    Good luck

hey there di.... Long time no see... ;)

Thanks for your help in the past. Am very suprised with the rapid offer from BF. One thing I have learnt is, it's worth giving it a go and not taking no for an answer ;)
  • welcome finance have put in place new procedures. They now have a team actually reading the complaints before rejecting them and checking if the claims are genuine. Those who are genuine will see improvement. All new cases are going through the new procedure route which clearly is faster and better for genuine claimants. Unfortunately ours are stuck in the old route (since feb 2008) but im told we will get sorted soon. They are aiming for before Christmas to give people Yes or no after full investigation. However the 1300 cases in the queue are aiming to be reviewed before end of July although the full conclusion wont be reached until this side of Christmas.

Why oh why could'nt the FO have told us anything. They know all this but choose not to keep anyone in the picture. I have had not correspondence from the FO since last year as far as i knew my case could have been lost or eaten by a dog lol. Had i not called Welcome finance and spoke to the PPI squad i would have been sure that was what happened lol. Oh i was also told Feb 08 are some of the earliest cases but there are some older!!

    Good luck all
    Hi Rosemahairy,

Just been reading your post and wanted to ask you some advise.
I claimed with Welcome Finance in Nov 2007 and got back responses both times with the paperwork i originally signed saying they do not think i was missold.......so i went to FOS in Nov 07, claim is now 18months old this week.

Based on the information you have provided, does this mean my claim will now be being relooked at with Welcome Finance or remain with FOS?
Also ive read 18 months is about standard for these claims with FOS, do think i should contact them or continue waiting - i have had no corresspondence since a few months after my original claim saying it was in the queue?

    Any help would be appreciated?
