PPI Reclaiming Discussion part 4

Hi All,
I requested the original agreement from a LTSB Loan I took out in 2002 and they have just sent it (very promptly).
I note the Optional Loan Protection? box on the form is crossed but not a manual cross done with pen, it looks as though this was done on the computer.
In all honesty I can't remember much about this loan and the circumstances around my taking it out; however, does the fact the box states it is 'Optional' Loan Insurnace and that I have signed the agreement mean I have no chance?
Also, it was a single premium which was added to the beginning and paid off each month alongside the actual loan amount - I don't really understand this single premium business - can anyone simplify?
Sorry to bombard the Forum with Q's but I'm just getting into this and think I have been robbed blind over the years! I'd like to make sure I am in the right before I reak my revenge!!0 -

Hi there
Like yours also with Lloyds, it was crossed like yours, not manually, however even if this was done, this does not mean you don't have a case.
Both myself and hubby have been successful - although it went to the FOS which did go in our favour.
If you have good reason, then go for it, and if they do not resolve this the first time on the first response, write back for them to reconsider, in the final response they should give you details of the FOS, even if it goes as far as them, you should be okay.;)
Oh you are not bombarded the forum lol, they are open for all X
Good luck. The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Sorry to hear about your situation......surely the PPI/FSCS fisco could be deemed to be mitigating circumstances..?
If you have arrears, is it for more than the PPI policy refund that you may get0 -
To those of you on the Picture Finance Journey....Latest update from the FSCS is more of the same at the moment. Still awaiting notification from legal,however one section of the email I got was very positive;
"We are satisfied from our solvency investigation of the firm that Picture do not have the funds to meet claims received. Therefore, it seems inevitable that the firm will be declared “in default” by the FSCS. "
The 'if' has now been replaced by a 'when' and so the more of us that push for their internal Legal dept to get cracking the better the chances of getting this sorted!
I would ask that all those with an interest in this case contact the FSCS and chase. (noisiest hinge and all that!);)
As always thanks gumbi, wrote to my MP who has also written to the FSCS so I hope that makes the hinge a bit noisier!
Is notification from legal the default bit or the claim criteria bit and does it make a difference?DS1 12/10/04

I really can't wait for Picture to go into default, this way I know that Twopart shouldn't be too far behind, good luck to you Pinknico and Gumbi and everyone else waiting.:A;)XXXXXThe one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
HI Gumbi
Thanks for the info we have been in touch with the FSCS about our case again and got the usual not declared in default yet. Unfortunatly it may be too late for us as we are getting close to being repossessed by Picture home loans formally picture financial I think. but heres hoping it wont be long till we get compo. Anyway we will keep chasing them and thank you from all of us for the updates.
If you are trying to reclaim your PPI is your account not in dispute and so possesion should be put on hold til claim sorted?
Wishing you all the best and hope you can get someone to help you. xxDS1 12/10/04
