Looking for a bit of advise please. Received letter back from RBS with regards to PPI. Was involving 2 loans and 1 credit card.

Loan 1 - Offer of all monies and interest. Payment of over 3000 pounds.

Loan 2 - Stated that don't believe misold and offered 750 as goodwill gesture only (amount of this I believe would be in region of over 5000 pounds)

Credit Card - Offered last 6 years payments and interest of just less than 2000 pounds ( card ceased 3 years ago and unsure of exact dates but think had card for around 9 - 10 years).

They have sent a seperate form to fill out for each account if wish to accept. So does that mean that I can go ahead and accept the offer on loan 1 and continue my query with the other loan as a seperate case.

Loan 2 they have included paperwork and ppi form that was ticked in numerous places and then signed. Form was compleated by advisor and then signed by partner. This was never disputed as I also had original loan agreement. Complaint was that single PPI and loan was stopped early and also that advisor stated that as Hubby had no house etc that loan would not be authorised unless PPI taken incase hubby died as large loan. I am going to write back querying this again and going over points and also do you think I should mention that during course of loan hubby was made redundant and was unemployed for 6 months. During this time he made no attempt to claim PPI as was not even really aware that had it. He had simply signed what advisor had told him to get money. I had not mentioned this in original letter.

Credit Card - Is it worth accepting offer or will they normally go back further. Again with this hubby was unemployed and made not attempt to claim. we dont have original paperwork nor do I believe have the bank as they have not included a copy.

Have advised that if not happy can go to FOS but also state at end of letter that if have any other evidence etc to recontact and that they will review.

    Sorry for huge post.
    Yearly Grocery Budget - £100.77/ £3500. January Treats Budget - £11.80 / £100.

hi there. i would contact them on the two as you think they are wrong, they can only say no, then you can take it to fos.i dont think they would offer you a goodwill payment if they were in the right, they will be hoping you accept all three and go away. i should think with all three being seperate you should be able to accept just one, i would phone them about this just to make sure

Thanks main issue was that not sure if can claim back further than 6 years of ppi on credit card or if 6 years is standard offer.

Hi there and yes you can.

My Credit Card PPI (lloyds), was taken out in Jan 2001, same as hubby's and we have both been successful (through the FOS).
So you go for it, and good luck.;)

Thanks Di, do you think I should also mention when i write back about this and other loan fact that was unemployed for 6 months and made no attempt to claim due to fact that didn't even really know what ppi was had just wanted to loan.

    Hi hun

Yes mention all this, and if they don't resolve this in your favour, I'm sure the FOS will.;)

I know there are a lot of people waiting for picture to be declared in default but I wondered if anyone had any recent news.

I know Pinknico and Gumbi have been looking into this which is great :D
The wait just seems to be going on forever and I just hope we hear something soon!!
