Hello, have you got proof they signed for the first letter? If so print it off and send it to them and say their 8 weeks starts from the time they received the original letter. Companies will try lots of stalling methods to put you off.DS1 12/10/04

hi there dont be worried about this. i am sure someone will respond to you, i think the buck cannot be passed from one to the other, when you get a reply from ff if it is a fob off letter, dont give up, send their letters with a complaint to fos and they will deal with it. bet di will put you on the right track when she comes on. there may even be someone who has had dealings with this and they can guide you much better, good luck and dont give up0

I took out a loan in 2005 through Freedom Finance although GE Money take my direct payments.I sent GE a letter on 19/02/09 they replied on the 23/02/09 to say I had to contact FF.I sent them a letter the same day recorded delivery but I lost the recorded number I phoned today 07/04/09 and they said they never recieved the letter so I have sent it again recorded delivery.I have also stated that I want a reply no later than the 30/04/09 as I am taking the date from my first letter posted.Has anyone dealt with either of these companies trying to claim PPI if so can any one give me any feedback.
Thanks
Hi weeang
You will find by browsing the threads there have been some dealings with both of these companies.

As this was taken in 2005 provided it was after 14th January, 2005 you should be ok at taking this to the FOS if they uphold it.
Good luck hun and get back to us if you need any more support.;)0 -
Hi, I have put in a claim with my bank regarding the miss selling of the PPi. I have recieved a lengthy letter from them today saying that they have reviewed the claim, basically saying that I signed the agreement and application forms, they say that I was sent the loan protector certificate (which I can not ever remember seeing) They have checked the member of staffs RECOLLECTIONS who says that they would have followed the banks process blah blah blah.... That the poilicy was sold on a "non advice basis" The upshot of it all is that they are turning down my claim BUT as a gensture of goodwill offer me £750 without any admission of liability!!!
Now what do you think? The full insurance premium was £1263 so £750 aint bad, but just wanted to know your thoughts. Many thanks for taking the time to read this. x
Also I still owe on the loan account would they simply pay the £750 towards that account or as it was an front loaded premium would they have to repay direct to me?
Sorry for repeating myself but wasnt sure which was the best place to put it so did both.
Personally I would push for the whole amount. what with all the new rules etc regarding ppi I reckon you would get it all back.
Write to them stating that without prejudice you will accept the amount as a part payment towards the total cost outstanding (If this is barclays bank they usually cough up the rest). There is a template letter showing you how to do this.0 -
Good morning all!!!!
Just a quick update on my claim with Cap One..... I received a letter from them on Sat morning basically saying that they still maintain that my PPI was not mis-sold and have offered me a 'Good will gesture' !! Now there's a few points I need advice on please??
1. They are obviously only offering me a partial amount of premiums paid and I know it should be at least 4 times that amount!!
2. I wrote to with a SAR a couple of weeks ago.....they have cashed my £10 cheque but I don't have any info.....should I wait for this before replying??
3. They have stated in their letter that if I accept this good will gesture, they will reduce this amount from my outstanding balance......My account has never been in arrears and I have never missed a payment!!
I would really appreciate some help as to what to write in my reply
Scoodies xx
Hi there.
Capital one is one of the companies I claimed against. Went to FOS. Took some time but I got all of my premiums back plus 8% interest plus interest charged on the premiums.
Also they credited my account then debited it and then sent me cheques.0 -
