    Hi

I wonder if anyone can help me with a mortgage ppi reclaim.

In oct 2004, we remortgaged with I Group, later to become GE Money.
We were sold a single premium PPI policy to cover myself only, which i later found out was added to the Mortgage a sum of £9132!!!!!, on a £180,000 mortgage.

I cancelled the policy in May 2008, when i found out about the policy only lasting 5 years.

I complained miss selling to GE, but they told me to contact the broker who arranged the mortgage, Sheffield Mortgage Company Limited, who went bust in 2006. I then wrote to the FO, who said clear off, your broker is bust, refer to FSCS. So i wrote to them, they sent a nasty little letter back, saying clear off, your claim is valid for miss selling, but occured before 15th Jan 2005, when FSCS could cover from.

Has anyone got any idea who i can try to claim from, or am i just flogging a dead horse. I feel very bitter about the small print of this mortgage, and someone, somewhere, has stolen our money, whcih we are still paying interest on the lump, as well as the premium of £9k.

    Any ideas would be great.

    Thanks.

    Hi there

Hopefully someone in the know of these issues will post up, as its also believed that both the lender and broker have a responsibility here.

Just a thought, here, maybe the CAB could check this out for you also, but as the lender also had the responsibility to what I know of, they should be held liable as well, meanings you are unable to go with the other, as its not fair to be let down like this, then to be told your claim is valid for mis selling.

Also just wondering if you could get legal aid, just a thought, but its another direction, if the lender can again be approached that is, with a bit of luck someone else will post up with some suggestions, fingers crossed.;)

hi there, dont want to poke my nose in but there have been a lot of wins on here and all it cost was a couple of stamps in some cases! it is so easy to start off yourself (and if you win you will be 20% better off if i can do it anyone can!) i am not trying to sway you one way or the other but companys only do what you can do, this is only my opinion but good luck with your claim whichever way you go , and please keep us posted

    I totally agree.

I found it very daunting at first but have managed to successfully claim charges and ppi about 7 times and have 2 left with ombudsman.

has only cost me the price of the postage for recorded delivery.

And also the people on this site are absolutely wonderful at giving advice for free.

20% could work out much more than the postage costs.

    Good luck

Well FP send us the paperwork but disk with calls is missing. So as I can't call them as loans are with my brothers had to wait till they called. We were told disk will be send within 5-6 days. So fingers crossed. I also read somewhere (and need to dig this out further) that if you were sold single premier PPI after some date in 2005 you had to sign a seperate agreement for that as well with is not with the paperwork...anyway just thought I'd keep you updated.

I have just spoken to RBS and they have assured me that my money will be in my account within 4 weeks of them receiving my acceptance letter.

I hope so as we have getting up this morning to find our roof is leaking. Typical in on hand out the other

    Wish me luck

09took out a loan in 2005 through Freedom Finance although GE Money take my direct payments.I sent GE a letter on 19/02/09 they replied on the 23/02/09 to say I had to contact FF.I sent them a letter the same day recorded delivery but I lost the recorded number I phoned today 07/04/09 and they said they never recieved the letter so I have sent it again recorded delivery.I have also stated that I want a reply no later than the 30/04/09 as I am taking the date from my first letter posted.Has anyone dealt with either of these companies trying to claim PPI if so can any one give me any feedback.

    Thanks:confused:

    Hi Guys
Quick update recieved two letters on Friday 10/04/09 from Freedom Finance one date 09/03/09 (which I never recieved) and one dated 08/04/09.Said they have no record of my loan I have to tell them how much it was for,who took it out,etc etc.Phoned GE Money this morning who gave me all the information when I took it how the original loan amount etc,and told me that Freedom Finance was my broker and that they added the PPI on the instructions from Freedom Finance.I have wrote back this morning telling them that I find all this unacceptable and that I still want a reply by 30/04/09 as that will be the 8 weeks up or I am taking it to fos.I am QUITE SHAKY and nervous have I done the right thing?
