Thanks for the reply Amersall, I would of quoted your response in this message but was having trouble working out how to do that...

Just have a few questions about the letter I now need to send -

Do I have to fill in both the complaint form and the PPI consumer questionairre?

Who do I send these too - im presuming its FOS not WFS?

The PPI letter asks for the Policy Number of the PPI but I can't see that anwhere on the paperwork recieved from WFS - will that be a problem?

Am I right in thinking that because I was in a secure job with 3 months full sick pay this means I didn't need the PPI?

Also I'm a bit confused why front loading the PPI would class as a reason for mis-sell - this may sound like a stupid question but I havn't got a clue!

Thanks again for your help on this :)
Hi,glad to help, when you want to quote a post,if you click quote under the post you need, this will be quoted.

You just fill one or the other in,they both should be about the same.

Send the form to Welcome, make sure you keep a copy in case you have to take this to FOS.

Front loaded ppi is the most upheld of all ppi,on your agreement it shows ppi and interest, this amount is in the loan total and you pay this to term end with interest, this is like a loan on a loan so to speak.

The ppi policy number is not vital,so put you do not have this, they will find the ppi on the loan from the account number.

If you had a job with sick pay,did you get any more after the 3 months, maybe a half pay?,if you did then put this as a reason, the ppi only covered you for 12 months anyway, even if you were never able to work again, the ppi would only pay this loan for a year.
If you had any savings and life insurance, these would have enabled you to pay the loan should the worst happen,so you did not need this ppi,the main reason for mis sell is front loaded, make sure you put this.

    Hi,
I wonder if anyone can help me. I potentially have 5 loans/credit cards which had PPI on them, although don;t have all the paperwork to get started. If I took the loans out online, is it still worth persuing or should I give up on those now? The one in mind dates back to 2004, I can't remember if boxes were already ticked and you had to opt out, but I've worked out that I had a medical condition at that time which would have made the insurance void anyway. Will they just turn round and say it was my fault or is it worth claiming anyway?
Would really appreciate any advice on this.
    Cheers

Hi online claims are a little harder as the lenders might argue that all the t&c's are online etc but people do still claim misold and win claims as well so give it a go, if you feel you have reasons to claim misold go for it.

When i ask this i'm not trying to be nosey abundance it's just that if your card only has a balance on it it's going to be a bit different say if you'd gone over your agreed limit or got behind with payments so to give an informed answer we would have to know this.

    Hi Cappo
Don't think you are being nosey and sorry I should have been specific - got behind on the credit card payments. Thanks in advance

I sent my claim letter off to Santander on the 8th Feb but haven't even had a letter to confirm they are looking into this. Do you think I should give them a ring?

    Thanks

They have 14 days to respond, give them a bit longer.

Hi abundance well my understanding is that if you had a personal loan say and you won misold on that loan any redress could be applied to that loan but i don't think that with the situation you've mentioned under the circumstances the lender would do this, i think they can do it but as the credit card is yours and your claiming on the loan which is in joint names you will probably be alright, see what the others think as i could be wrong. Good Luck:):):):):):):):):)

Hello to all the Fab people on this board ( I have been reading for the last week, but not got round to registering)

Can I ask a couple of questions for those who have been through this already.

I had a letter fro mNRAM the other day and phoned them back to confirm I believe I was mis sold - I never realised what was the mis-selling...and then I phoned HSBC after completed the questionnair and they took it over the phone - well they tok I thought it was a miss-sell and they would get back to me in 8 weeks - I was originally raising for the ppi on my cc which I cancelled a couple of yeare ago when I realised that it was not giving me anything and costing me a fortune!!

So I then thought what about all my other loans....I had a tesco one which I think I have the account number for, but not the paperwork, It appears I was still paying for this in 2006 according to my statements (Sept), so I know the 6 years is fast approaching - so should I £1 and get agreement or £10 and SAR them or just put a claim in, stating my referance and the address I had at the time etc.......

    My reasons for mis-sell were:
I am a local gov worker and have been for 16 years - with the normal full and half pay sick and redundancy, I lived with my parents for a lot of this
The Northern Rock one - i really needed the loan at the time and was told this would be fantastic to secure teh loan as I could prove I was able to pay - and I am sure the tesco one was very similar
they never asked about any medical conditions I may have had or explained what the ppi covered apart fromit woudl make the payments - I am only now realising it would be for 12 months only reading these threads.

Any advice would be fantastic please. Thank you in advance.
