    Hi oli949,
What came first the complaint about being mis sold or the unemployment due to illness?
The reason I ask is that you find yourself in a position where you could have claimed on the PPI but have complained about being mis sold it. If you ask them not to stop the tax due to your current circumstances they may turn around and say hang on why have you complained.
On what grounds did you complain?

I wasn't even aware that I was paying for PPI, so didn't think to claim on it. It probably isn't worth the hassle messing about with the tax. I'll just accept the offer. Thanks very much for your help.

Right OK, I wouldn't rock the boat, accept the redress and pay the tax on it, if you are still in the position you are come April you will probably get a tax rebate. Hope things change for the better for you soon regarding the illness and employment, the redress will help I'm sure ;)
    Successes
    Sainsbury's/BOS £6,400 Paid :)
    MBNA £3,600 Paid :)

I'm not sure I have a case for "front loaded" PPI since I've always paid the policies separately from the loan re-payments. The cost of closing each policy was added to each additional consolidation loan, though, so does that count as "front loaded"? As a result, my original loan of just a few £thousand had snowballed to £28,000 by the time of the fourth consolidation loan a few years ago.
I've decided to send in the forms with just the numbers of the loan agreements and the PPI policies because (as I said in my original post) I have tried without any success to speak to them by telephone. I'm afraid the claims I made already with paperwork, dates and specific reasons might be delayed otherwise.
I know you said get all the details in case my claim has to go to the Ombudsman, but would missing dates be prejudicial or just cause a delay until the information is made available?
I've deliberately used the Forum Name above because I really have been re-miss in conducting my financial affairs (though I'm not bankrupt, I must stress). I'm doing my best to remedy this. Wish me luck!

in the years before 2007 it would have been front loaded as to the info for the additional loans you could try to just put in what you have, i'd write a letter and include all the other loans you were told about and what details they told you about ref numbers etc and go from there.

Hi jamie and welcome, just call them and ask for the info, generally the banks will comply, you might even be able to put your complaint in over the phone.

    yes that what i ment
im trying to work out if the card was with some one else and santander took over in 2009

Give Santander a ring and ask them who had the card before they did,Santander may only pay you redress(if you win) from the date they took over, you may have to go for the other card company if this happens, you will need redress from the period before Santander took over.

You may only have to do one mis sell to Santander as they should hold all info for this card from when you took this out if it was taken over by them, ask them about this.

    Hi,

Does anybody know how long Barclaycard are taking to answer PPI complaints? I sent my form in on the 14/11/11 and still waiting for a final response. Everytime I call I get a different story.
They had 16 weeks to issue a final response, you are on week 14 weeks, give them the 2 weeks and if you have heard nothing by then contact them.

Bailed-out banks worth just HALF the £1,000 it cost each person to save them - as they get ready to admit £6BILLION losses

:(RBS cost £45.5bn to bailout but the stake is now worth just £26bn

:(£20bn paid to bailout Lloyds but shareholding is now worth HALF

RESIGN STEPHEN HESTER ON A VERY POOR PERFORMANCE

RESIGN ANTONIO OSORIO ON A VERY POOR PERFORMANCE

Both of these "wannabee" bankers should resign, they have lost half the money we bailed them out with --- DISGUSTING
Would these two banks lend money to failures ??? OF COURSE NOT yet Hester and Osorio are failures so why are they still employed ??
I know the point you are making, but while the thread is being filled with this, posts are remaining unanswered, this is the reclaiming board,if you want to carry on with this, you should start a new thread, this leaves this thread free for the purpose of what it says on the tin :D
