how do i SAR them? will each bank give me info for all loans i have had with them? i think i have 6 different banks/credit cards to chase.

OK, WELL you can start by asking them direct and maybe they will provide the information. If not, you need to SAR them and they must give you all the information

Fred Goodwin, THE MAN WHO BROKE THE RBS and the WORLD

Stripped of his Knighthood, why is Goodwin still taking a massive pension from the bank he ran which went BUST

THE MAN WHO BROKE THE UK should be stripped of his pension, his assets seized to repay the taxpayer.
WHEN IS THIS GOING TO HAPPEN

    THIS IS GOODWIN

You don't have much choice Blackpoolguy79 :( You have to let the bank investigate and come to a decision BEFORE you can approach the FOS.
If you lose patience now and send it to FOS you will delay it by 328 days never mind 28 :(
Hang tight, hopefully you will get redress without having to FOS it ;) Beneficial don't appear to be the quickest but let them do what they have to

    Thanks dilus,

I was just wondering as I thought there was an 8 week maximum length. I'll hang tight and hopefully I'll have a positive response from beneficial soon.

8 weeks is a guide to be honest, some banks are getting on top of cases and sorting within that time frame, some are not. It's difficult to be patient but it does often pay off, not that you have been but constantly phoning and e mailing can be counter productive at times. If you don't hear anything further after 28 days by all means chase up. Keep them on their toes so they know you are going no where but give them the time they have asked for. At least they are keeping you informed to some degree unlike others who are being fobbed off left, right and centre ;)

  • Hi

I would like to add my experiences with claiming back PPI, in which some credit card/loan companies will lead you a merry dance hoping you will go away.....But perservere!!!!!

I had PPI on a Blue American Express Card which was closed in 2011. I put in my complaint as I knew my PPI had been misold. The customer services had said they logged my complaint and I would receive a letter of acknowledgement within 5 days. I asked for all the details of the PPI and they said they could not access such infformation. Anyway a week went by, no letter so I rang back. I was given FIVE different phone numbers (each one totally the wrong department) and then put through to someone in PPI (after I threatened them with the FOS)
My initial complaint had not even been logged!!
After sticking to my guns, (not getting off the phone) I have had it confirmed ppi was on my card totalling £283.30 (ex interest) I have a case number (which I requested) as they would not give me a ference number, and within two days I received my letter stating they are investigating.

NRAM previosly NR( loan)were the same - I spent nearly one hour on the phone, as they said they could not find details of my loan in which i have copies of PPI on the documents!!!!! I have requested all copies of my mortgage and loan to be sent. Still waiting!

I think these companies will think you will go away.

Egg (loan) were great - the first to respond back, and gave you details of the PPI insurance and total.

LLoyds TSB - AWFUL to deal with....So much so i reported them to the ombudsman as the customer services lady hung up on me regarding PPI, as I asked for a manager, as she was so unhelpful. Letter received the following day by the FOS to follow up complaint for the PPI.

Good luck everyone and stick to your guns!!!

    Hope this helps...

Can anyone tell me if they have claimed from the Next Directory, I've been paying payment protection insurance over many years which I didn't ask for.

    Many thanks in advance.

    Hi There,

Just saw your post as I've had a Next Directory for over 13 years. How did you fing out you have PPI? Is it included in the service charge? I've just read the back off one of my statements, and it lists payment protection in the account summary.

if this is included, I too did not know about this.

    Thanks for the post
  • The problem is that they are listed but there are no details (dates etc). Should I just omit these details from the claim form or try to investigate further?

    Thanks, by the way!

Well you can put down what you have or call them and ask for details which they should supply by letter, they did for me and it was fairly easy to call them and check up on the validity of policy numbers etc, you would be best to get all the details though and put on the forms just in case it has to go to the fos but this being front loaded ppi this is very unlikely, i think you have multiple wins there.

I'm not sure I have a case for "front loaded" PPI since I've always paid the policies separately from the loan re-payments. The cost of closing each policy was added to each additional consolidation loan, though, so does that count as "front loaded"? As a result, my original loan of just a few £thousand had snowballed to £28,000 by the time of the fourth consolidation loan a few years ago.
I've decided to send in the forms with just the numbers of the loan agreements and the PPI policies because (as I said in my original post) I have tried without any success to speak to them by telephone. I'm afraid the claims I made already with paperwork, dates and specific reasons might be delayed otherwise.
I know you said get all the details in case my claim has to go to the Ombudsman, but would missing dates be prejudicial or just cause a delay until the information is made available?
I've deliberately used the Forum Name above because I really have been re-miss in conducting my financial affairs (though I'm not bankrupt, I must stress). I'm doing my best to remedy this. Wish me luck!

Hi guys. Although I haven't posted here before the thread has been very helpful. I complained against Natwest about missold PPI; I got a letter in the post today offering me around £4500 but without accepting liability. I have a couple of questions and would appreciate any help. Firstly since the loan is still active will the money be paid in cash or taken off the loan? Also on the acceptance form they want me to fill out there are spaces for two signatures and dates; the loan is a joint one. Are there two lines for two signatures from both account holders?
    Thanks

    Hi oli949,
What came first the complaint about being mis sold or the unemployment due to illness?
The reason I ask is that you find yourself in a position where you could have claimed on the PPI but have complained about being mis sold it. If you ask them not to stop the tax due to your current circumstances they may turn around and say hang on why have you complained.
On what grounds did you complain?
