Hi Daz, welcome to the forum
Leave the questionnaire as it is, no need to delete any of it. The address for HFC as posted in the A-Z section is
HFC BANK PLC CUSTOMER SERVICES MANAGER,
CUSTOMER SERVICES,
PO BOX 2445,
BIRMINGHAM,
B1 3PJ
TEL: 0870 0100453
If, and I think it is probably the case that the PPI was a "single premium upfront" this is a strong reason for mis sell. Make sure you state this on the questionnaire as this is a big no no and has a good success rate as it was fraudulent activity. Look at the reasons for mis sell here
If all or any apply to you then include them, but you only need one good reason to get redress Upfront single premium is a good start. Good luck and keep us posted on progress, any help needed just shout
BTW only send copies of the questionnaire and your original documents, keep the originals yourself
Thanks dilus you're a total star!! The PPI was 2 lots, Life AND accident, sickness and unemployment and was an "optional" payment. It was added (they're SO kind aren't they lol) to the monthly repayment total. The loan ended this month so I've paid em just over £5000 for nowt.
I'll keep you informed of how it's going, fingers crossed it goes well, I could replace my car! LOL
Thanks again

Despite saying this is their final response, they also mention that 'they would need further evidence confirming I was a student at the time and not in full-time employment when the policy was sold...and confirmation my partner did not meet eligibility criteria' and asking for a copy of NI contributions paid for that year.
You need to get your p45 from when you worked part time,if you have not kept any of these you will not get replacements.
Ring HMRC .

They may be able to help you prove low earnings, for part time work.
If you did not have a partner, just say so,dont know what proof you could have of this.
Have you anything from your student days as proof, paperwork, start and finish of courses etc? give the collage a ring and see if they can help you.
If you can obtain this info your claim can be looked at again.0 -
Hi All
Although this is my first post, I've used the site and forum advice lots recently to help me with claiming back PPI that I was forced to have added to an HSBC graduate loan I took out several years ago. The first time I tried to claim a few years ago, they initially turned me down but I have recently tried again, filling in and sending off my questionnaire in Dec'11. I've just received an offer from HSBC of almost 10K! My acceptance is going straight in the post today. So pleased they've seen the light and even replied within a few weeks with a positive response. This will mean that I'm now totally debt free and even have money for my wedding next year, yay!!!
Keep up the good work - the info on this site has been invaluable xMFW - mtg outstanding = 84k (Oct 2013)0 -

You can request a SAR for all info on any accounts you may have.
They may withdraw the offer after 30 days, but then again they may not.
If the offer is for the 2 loans as you said above,it looks like they have given you full redress.
What was the ppi on the second loan with the interest and the term?.
Who did you have the secured loan with, and what year did you take this out?.
Thanks Amershall,
I have looke at their letter again. They claim no ppi was attached to that other Personal Loan [but how do I know they're telling the truth- or do I just take their word for it].
The secured Loan was taken out in August 2002 for £45k and paid off in July 2006. It was with Abbey (Santander).
They have not mentioned the secure Loan or credit card in their response.
In that case would it be safe to accept the offer for the 2 personal loans, while I request for an SAR and then pursue the remaining accounts?
Is it possible that they will construe my acceptance of this particular offer as final settlement for all the other accounts I complained about even though in their offer letter only this two personal loans account were highlighted?
Is there a chance that they could be looking into the other Loans separately?
I wouldn't want them to withdraw the offer, so I may just accept it on the condition that the secured Loan, Mortgage and credit card is looked into. But the problem is, unless I obtain the SAR, I do not know for sure if I paid ppi on those.
Thanks a million.0 -
I recently recieved a BACS payment from Lloyds for my PPI claim. After a very long wait and numerous phone calls and emails it arrived in my natwest account on the 25th August. I then recieved a letter on the 19th December explaining because of the late payment Lloyds have added interest onto my PPI claim. I thought this would arrive in my natwest account the same way. On the 9th January i decided to check my old Lloyds account which i havent used in ages and have been meaning to close down. To my shock Lloyds had paid the full PPI claim again and interest on top. Now i do have other claims with them but im pretty sure this isnt for them. I since emailed Lloyds and Phoned them but no reply and couldnt get threw on the phone. What do i do now the 2nd payment was made on the 23rd December, i dont want to spend any of it just in case and have put it in a savings account. If anyone could help please0

Hi all, so many pages re PPI, thought I would add to it!!
I am currently looking into claiming back my PPI on couple old loans. I don't remember ever asking for PPI and certainly can not ever remember getting it explained to me, in fact I believe on one of my loans it was already preselected and I just signed.
My question is re an exisiting loan I have with paragon. Its a fairly large loan of £20,000 and I am paying just short of £78 a month PPI. Is it worth my while asking them for copy of my signed agreement for first? I have the 2nd copy of my agreement that they ask you to keep for files. It already has PPI premium in Key information but there are tick boxes at bottom of form asking what level of PPI cover I want and I do not know what/if I selected on original form. Can you try and reclaim even if you selected it but don't believe it was explained to you?
The loan was originally processed through loans.co.uk and can't remember how a lot of this paperwork was done. I have another 6 years of the loan left, will they cancel my loan if I try to reclaim PPI? Heard loads of horror stories re bank charges. I think I would like some protection for accident/redundancy but would like to think I can get it cheaper than £78 a month, what type of policy is recommended?
So for all the questions I am bit clueless when it comes to these insurances.0 -
Hi
got a 2nd rejection for my PPI refund form Santander.
They have attached my original agreement which has the application for PPI crossed out. Santander agree I did not apply for cover at the time I took out the card in store.
They claim that it was sold to me by their telemarketing department on 20th April 2004.
They say
'we are unable to retrieve a recording of the call, as due to the length of time elapsed we are no longer obliged to hold this data. However I can confirm that we are aware of when the insurance was sold and how, due to an insurance maintenance screen, which in addition confirms if the insurance was upgraded'
So you would think I would hold all the cards and they'd cave, but no they are refusing to refund me. This card was a Mothercare card which I used once to buy a pram (and then only made min payments on ooops!) I was on SMP and my husband was supporting me at the time, that aside I feel miffed that I should have to prove that it was mis sold when like MBNA and Capital One they have just added it to my account without my consent. This doesn't amount to thousands but they have my money.
I'm trying to write an email to them in response but keep being blinded by rage, anyone help me with a few unemotional lines?
Any help appreciated.MBNA Upheld £20,663.63 2/11/11, cheque recieved 25/11/11 :j
Capital One Upheld 11/11/11 £2793.21 cheque recieved 2/12/11 :j
Santander rejected by them 11/11/11, counter rejected by me 17/11/11. x2 letters advising they need another 4 weeks and then another rejection:rotfl:0 -
First time on the forum, can anyone advise please? We contacted Barclays back in August and were advised that it would take the 12 weeks for a resolution, it has now been 22 weeks and still no response from Barclays. We ring everyweek and are told the same thing, that its being dealt with, we have even sent letters but had no reply. We have now passed it on to the FOS which Barclays advised us we could do, and have just received a letter from the FOS saying its likely to be in excess of a year before we get a response from them! Where do we go from here???0
