well there in lies a tale, they say that they believe that despite the fact that I ticked no on the original application, that I agreed to purchase the PPI during a call to activate my card two years later (no copy of call just standard transcript) and despite the fact that I am a civvy and the policy is of no use to me, that they believe that I can benefit from the policy because at the time i was 41 in f/t employment. Obviously whoever "assessed" this case is a total muppet and they dont get the bit where I say you have not proved I agreed and by the app I can prove that I didnt want it and by my employment I can prove that I cannot claim against it.
I really want to email the CEO again but wonder if its worth it if he aint going to respond???
Any suggestions would be appreciated xIF HIND SIGHT WAS FORESIGHT WOULD I STILL NEED TO GO TO THE OPTICIANS???0 -

Get back in touch and tell them you do not accept the reason for not upholding, had you wanted ppi you would have taken it at application, you did not need it and would not have changed your mind when you activated the card.
Ask them for the telephone recording as you are taking this to the FOS,along with the original agreement showing you did not want ppi.0 -

Thanks Amersall, i have a copy of the agreement that they have sent me, that clearly shows that I ticked NO! I will write to them this time and put in as you suggest a request for the call recording, should I put a time limit on their response? they wrote to me originally on the 12th November stating they would give me a response in 8 weeks.
Thanks for the help x;)IF HIND SIGHT WAS FORESIGHT WOULD I STILL NEED TO GO TO THE OPTICIANS???0 -

Dear Sir/Madam,
I recently contacted you regarding PPi that had been fraudulently added to my account by your team.
You responded to my complaint stating that you had reviewed my complaint and have concluded that with the information that you hold that you have no evidence of a mis sell and that you believe that I am eligible to claim on the insured risks.
I reiterate what I said in my original complaint to you:
I did not agree to purchase this policy.
I ticked NO on the original application, I would not have changed my mind when activating the card.
I am NOT I repeat NOT eligible to claim on the insured risks as I am covered for those by my employer.
I DO NOT accept your response as final, you have NOT completed a comprehensive review.
You have evidence through my letter that
A) I DID NOT want PPII am covered by my employer.
I demand that unless you review your decision and uphold my complaint, that you send me a recording of the telephone conversation so that I can forward that and my copy of the ticked 'NO box for PPI' agreement to the Financial Ombudsman.
I expect a written response within 14 days of receipt of this letter

Hi Everyone,
New member to the forum and like many, i hoping for some advice reagarding an old Credit card. Had an Egg card from sometime in 2002 until 2007 and had PPI on it, dont remember having the option as i normally would not have taken out PPI. Card is no longer active and cant find anything related to it i.e. old statements, even the credit card number i dont have. Is there anyway to get this info from Egg or do I just leave it? Any advise would be much appreciated.
Hi - I was in a similar situation, but I cancelled the PPI very early on when I realised I had it so there wasn't much refund to be had (see signature). They were very helpful though, I rang their customer service line and just told them as much info as I could. They then gave me the credit card number and I wrote off to complain and got a refund within a few weeks.
Good luck - I'd certainly advise you to give it a try!0 -
