I have just been refused by capital one on my claim for PPI, they say that this is their final response but am inclined to write to them and ask them to read through my claim properly as it is evident that they have missed the fact that as a civil servant I get paid sick etc and the fact that on the original app I ticked the NO box. They claim I agreed to PPI over the phone when activating my card, why would I do that knowing that I can not make a claim on it which is why I said no in the first place? They have sent me a standard phone script not a recording of my supposed conversation, and I don't suppose they have a copy of it!!
Question is:
Would I have any joy or should I just cut to the chase and go to the FOS?

Just annoys me when I can see that they have clearly failed to read my complaint properly and I may feel much better after I have written to them lol!
Opinions are sought, thanks......

I have just received a letter from RBS regarding the PPI insurance on my Natwest Mortgage as part of a claim and have been offered £3,400 as a gesture of goodwill. I have to let them know if I accept this and they will send me a cheque. Don;t know whether to accept or take the claim further. Anyone know what I do, please? My Mortgage was taken out approx 10 years ago the PPI premiums are £30 per month.

Hi lorri i suppose it depends on whether you want it resolved quickly or are willing to take it to the fos bearing in mind that they are overwhelmed at the moment with a wait of a year or two but the offer sounds low, your choice really.

Hi, Cappo has had a lot of problems with Capital One AND YES the FOS could help you BUT ...... If you did not tick the box, and they say you agreed to it by phone, request a transcript of the conversation to prove you agreed, no transcript, they cannot prove what they said and therefore you can basically claim 100% from the list below.

Take no notice of the "final response" rubbish, its only final when they repay your money. Capital One are well known for their staff adding PPI's without permission and worse of all, Capital One sold fraudulent policies designed never to pay out. So, hit their CEO WITH A CHARGE OF FRAUD he already knows that Capital One are a fruadulent bank

His name is Rich Fairbank rich.fairbank@capitalone.com AND YOU CAN HEAD YOUR EMAIL "FRAUD COMPLAINT"

*Did YOUR BANK explain the full cost of the PPI when you took out the loan?
*Did you specifically ask YOUR BANK for PPI?
*Did YOUR BANK make clear that PPI was optional?
*Did YOUR BANK ask you about your medical history?
*Did YOUR BANK ask you about any existing payment cover?
*Did you know that YOUR BANK added a PPI policy to your loan?
*Do you think YOUR BANK treated you fairly?
*Did YOUR BANK ask if you have any existing medical conditions?
*Did YOUR BANK ask if you were entitled to sick pay from your employer?

If you answered no to any one of the above you could be owed thousands of pounds

Hi, typical RBS / NatWest fob off.

There can be NO GOODWILL if the product you were sold was not suitable for your needs.

My calculations based on £30 per month over 10 years is £3600
You can accept £3400 as long as you state it is accepted as part payment only.

CHECK THE LIST and if you can answer no, then claim the full amount plus 8% interest.

• I keep getting recorded calls on my internet line - an unpublished number - saying "Hi I'm calling about your PPI reclaim".
I don't even have a PPI to reclaim and wouldn't have given that number (since I can't even remember it!) I know it is a scammer after your money.
If anyone calls and you are in the process of reclaiming, please check that it isn't from this number: 0203 060 1580 otherwise you may be tricked into parting with your hard fought reclaim.
Good luck to all who are reclaiming.
• Hi all,
Received a letter from Lloyds TSB back on the 25th of July 2011 saying that they were making a final offer on my PPI claim, which i accepted. To date, no funds have been transferred to my acccount.
I have phoned countless times, faxed two complaints via my local branch & have written to them as well, all to no avail.
Has anyone had any similar problems taking this length of time or any advise to try & bring this to a conclusion as i feel i'm banging my head against a brick wall ! ! !
:(

The more we all read about LloydsTSB delaying payments, the more we feel they have no money. The longer they take, the more interest they will have to pay you :rotfl:

Give them 7 days to pay or you will issue a County Court Summons which will include your costs
