Hiya FOS reppie,, can you chase mine up, over 3 months and no one has even looked at it, and i know for a fact that when it is viewed and you do uphold Norton will not agree with you so then another delay until the Ombudsman upholds, even then they will use delay tactics.0

Well I have posted my reclaim to First Plus today to claim back by £5500 front loaded PPI on a loan that was paid off within a year in 2006....... wish me luck :-)
How long do I have to give them for their response?????
Well almost in shock I have received an acnowledgement from FP - nice little FSA leaflet attached and saying they will advise their decision by 08/02/12. Hopefully if they have read their little leaflet they will want to accept and get rid asap. Will keep you all posted, expect that will be sometime in April when they respond lolHoping 2015 will be a better year0 -

Quick question regarding calculations etc.
Barclays mis-sold me ppi but they did not uphold my original complaint, I have since emailed back with evidence my employers provided full sick pay for X amount of time and death in service payment.
Firstly, would this be sufficient evidence to uphold my complaint? I advised them that had the ppi been explained properly then i would have politely declined as i had sufficient cover.
Secondly...going on memory my limit was £2800 and was almost fully used...based on an advice document here it said that for £2500 over three years would be roughly £750 of ppi paid so for arguments sake i doubled that as it was about 6 years i had the card (dont know if ppi was on for the entire time but i guess the banks calculations will advise)
I had the card for 6-7 years, again i chose 6 years as a ball park figure due to not knowing the exact dates etc.
So that would be £1500 of ppi paid...now elsewhere on here i saw that the compensation interest rate is 8% a day? Is this the case?
If so, provided my calculations are correct, 6 years is 2190 days, so would i get interest of 8% over 2190 days?
If thats the case then the figure im looking at is roughly £120 per day in compensation interest? Therefore a grand total of around £262,800??
Err, Im not sure if ive crossed my wires at all so please correct me if i have and provide a rough breakdown of the figure involved.
However if i am right....it surely isnt likely that the bank will pay me that sum of money is it?!
Thanks for your help!
Vindicated,
Im afraid your maths are a little wrong. Although that would be a very nice sum to receive!!!!
My understanding is (anyone please feel free to correct me if i am wrong) is that you would divide the total ppi paid by the the days.
So if you are suggesting that you are owed roughly £1500 then you would divide this by the 2190 days which would equate to 68p per day paid for the ppi and interest, the 8% interest would be applied to this amount which works out @ roughly 6p per day (based on your figures)
Which would mean that the total 8% interest would be £131 for the whole 2190 days.
(just pointing out im not an accountant lol - these figures are most likely wrong as I dont know how they fully work out interest and have just worked this on a base day rate, the bank would be able to work this out fully for you)
Good luckHoping 2015 will be a better year0 -

My Mams partner has had loans with Lloyds which are all now paid off. It's only recently we have realised PPI was added to them without his knowledge (he gets a bill and pays it never querying anything. Grr). We have written to Lloyds and they have sent details of the loans (start dates and amount etc) but theres no details of the PPI payments. How can we request these? What should we be asking for?Fantastic Expectations Amazing Revelations0 -
