Hi catty this bank are very shifty i've been arguing with them for 9 months about ppi on two credit cards and two loans they swore black and blue i never even had ppi despite me knowing full well that i did and telling them so in over 40 emails, they've now upheld two loans ( no ppi huh) i've now ent the credit cards to the fos as i'm sick and tired of talking to them how long ago was this borrowing?
We have paperwork for loans in -
November 2004
August 2005
May 2007
March 2009
and one loan which he has just finished paying (we cancelled the PPI after I got him to ring two months before it ended).
I don't know what I should be writing if I'm honest. Each month there are two interest payments - do you think one of them may be the PPI payment?Fantastic Expectations Amazing Revelations0 -

Hi catty you should find ppi on your original agreements saying that you know if you had it or not (generally ) if all borrowing is with the one bank you might be better to sar them, i would say contact them and ask them but they will not always tell you, i would sar them catty a tenner for all your details it would probably be worth your while

Thank you. Sorry to sound ignorant but what is sar?
Sorry catty it's a sar which stands for subject access request the banks have to comply with a sar request which is basically a request for all the information the bank holds on you, credit card info, bank charges, loan info, everything and as your mums partners loans are so recent you should get the lot the banks have by law to give you this information under the data protection act 1998 they have 40 days to comply some banks are better than others but they do have to give you the info if they don't it becomes an issue for the information commissionaire officer at the ico and of course the fsa as most loans were front loaded your pretty safe and you don't sound ignorant, thats whats we're here for.0 -
I have just been refused by capital one on my claim for PPI, they say that this is their final response but am inclined to write to them and ask them to read through my claim properly as it is evident that they have missed the fact that as a civil servant I get paid sick etc and the fact that on the original app I ticked the NO box. They claim I agreed to PPI over the phone when activating my card, why would I do that knowing that I can not make a claim on it which is why I said no in the first place? They have sent me a standard phone script not a recording of my supposed conversation, and I don't suppose they have a copy of it!!
Question is:
Would I have any joy or should I just cut to the chase and go to the FOS?
Just annoys me when I can see that they have clearly failed to read my complaint properly and I may feel much better after I have written to them lol!
Opinions are sought, thanks......IF HIND SIGHT WAS FORESIGHT WOULD I STILL NEED TO GO TO THE OPTICIANS???0 -
I have just received a letter from RBS regarding the PPI insurance on my Natwest Mortgage as part of a claim and have been offered £3,400 as a gesture of goodwill. I have to let them know if I accept this and they will send me a cheque. Don;t know whether to accept or take the claim further. Anyone know what I do, please? My Mortgage was taken out approx 10 years ago the PPI premiums are £30 per month.:ALorri0
