Finally got my offer from Barclaycard last night when I got home. About time as it has been going on since June. Thanks so much for everyone who posted on this subject and to those that advised me. It really is worth sticking with it. Don't give up!
Well done, have a good christmas, don't spend it all0 -

I work for the Financial Ombudsman Service - the free service set up by law with the power to sort out problems between consumers and financial businesses. Making a complaint about the sale of a PPI policy will not affect your account and the credit card company has to handle your complaint fairly, by law. However, if you have any problems the ombudsman service may be able to help on 0300 123 9 123 or at financial-ombudsman.org.uk.
Thanks

Hi Phillipa
Can you provide an insight onhow FOS works.
I have sent my acceptance to FOS, which was supposed to be forwarded to Tesco Personal Finance as soon as it was recived. Its been almost a week since i sent it via recorded delivery and as yet, Tesco are claiming that FIOS have not sent them my acceptance and that they will not start any calculation work on my claim until it has been received.
Why is there such a delay in doing a simplte thing such as forwarding my acceptance to them. It took 5 weeks for FOS to send me the original acceptance letter and not a further delay.
Not having a personal dig at yourself, just looking for clarification on why simple letter are not dealt with within a reasonable time frame.
Thanking you in advance.Current debt:
Barclay Card - £4900, Creation Card - £7000, American Express - £2400, Nation Wide Card - £3600, Black Hourse Loan - £10500, Car Finance - £5k.0 -
Hi Sunny, how long has it taken you from informing FOS to getting an acceptance letter,, the service although free is painfully slow.0

I have just had a rejection from Barclaycard stating it was sold to me before 2001, it was 1994 and still active, I have read alot of posts on here and have e-mailed Bob with a "severe" complaint but do you have any other advise?0

Hi Newbie here,
A couple of months ago a claims company contacted my husband, the paperwork sat around for a while (which was lucky) and I happened to see Martin on Watchdog stressing that you can complain yourself direct to the banks. The next day I downloaded the standard obusman complaint form and sure enough it was fairly straighforward to complete.
The claims company would have taken 25%! I am sooooo glad we did not go through them. So far:
2 Barclaycard claims - rejected yesterday - I have emailed Bod Diamond
Successes:
MBNA credit card - sent of form in mid Oct rec'd letter of offer 3 weeks later and one week later rec'd a cheque for a whopping £12k
3 RBS loans - sent calim mid Oct rec'd offer today - £2,600, £3,400 and £4,200
I am totaly amazed it has changed our life at a time when we really needed it MANY THANKS to Martin and the people who post on these threads.
Waiting for a decision on:
Further 3 RBS loans, RBS credit card, MBNA loan and Alliance & Leicester Credit Card.0 -

Thanks Cappo, i do understand that volumes are significant etc, but even during my time at the FSA working on the pension review cases, we were allocated and responsible for over 1000 cases per month...so if some post came in for one of my cases, id act on it and not sit on it.
I was hoping to get this all done and dusted before xmas, which seems like it wont happen at this rate.:(Current debt:
