They should have taken the whole ppi off, dont know what they are playing at,let me know how you get on.
Will do, emailed earlier on, so see if this 'executive' comes back tomorrow with more details, they were also trying to make out how complicated it is to work these out because of the previous four loans which all refinanced the one before, I also said I know this also and sent the bit from the recalculations thread about that too and basically the last loan wouldn't have required so much as some of it would've been from the ppi carried forward from the previous loans.
If they come back to say no, thats it no more i'll be happy to go down the FOS route with that, can't imagine it would take that long to solve that one as it's not so much on the redress, and i'll refuse to pay anymore to it until it's sorted one way or another, and i'd happily go to the Court to sort it too, I can just imagine the Sheriff(i know a few of them, hehe):D:D

smitchy, just had a thought, dont know if this is relevent, when you repaid each loan previous, you would have had a rebate of ppi to reduce the settlement figure, they take this off any win you get,do you know if they have done this?,if not they could have added these to the loan balance, dont know if they can,but as i said "just a thought",you really need the whole breakdown of these loans and arrears and redress,or you are working blind.

You need to get the exact figures from before and from when the loan defaulted,it may be the large balance includes arrears from previous,it may be a good idea to SAR the bank and The bank collections to get all the info they have, unless you have all records of all payments made to date?.
You need a proper calculation to work this out,the arrears can only be the reason this loan is still owed 4000,that is my logic anyway.
Yeah I have the lot, including all the statements etc showing all the payments, and all along even these emails going to the executive she's never said it's anything to do with arrears. It really is strange, and i'm keeping all the emails for the FOS if required.
Thanks to all the competition posters.

I'll see if she comes back in the morning, and if nothing further or new i'll ask for a full breakdown of all the settlements etc from the previous loans as well as this one. I do have the settlement figures from each of the loans, but not the ppi/loan split of the refund.

If not I'm ready for a fight, I had been told by one department that x amount was being paid off and y amount from the redress would clear it, then another department told me they would'nt use any from the redress to pay it off and I'd receive the whole amount at which point I could phone up to get a settlement figure (of around 60% of the debt ) and clear it completely and the ppi amount would be taken off the loan. I'm still waiting to hear back from that department also, and i'll phone them in the morning as well, they always tell me the calls are being recorded so i'll be asking for them to review them as i've noted down all the dates, times and people i've spoken to over the past couple of months.

    Hi all...just a quicky...

Amount owing as at 27-3-2009 £2509.80
    Paid reduced amount £1479.93
Balance "written off" by HFC £1029.87
Ins. canc. by HFC (26-6-09) deducted £36.22 off bal. so = £ 993.65

...when I made my early balance settlement with HFC I presumed that was that, but during my reclaiming with them I started to get letters saying I still owed this money. Eventually they said it was a mistake and that I didn't owe it...I have a written apology saying the account was short settled and no further monies will be sought by HFC.

On the PPI "Acceptance of Offer' form I have to sign there is a paragraph saying "As I still have a financial committment to HFC Bank, the amount of redress paid directly to me is subject to the status of my accounts. If there is any residual balance, this will be sent to my bank account. It may be necessary to contact you via telephone to discuss this further. Please give preferred contact number."

Does this mean that they can still take the £993.65 out of the final redress even though they accepted a lower settlement fee via CapQuest (debt collection agency)?

    Any thoughts please
