hi guys,
i have just received a settlement offer from Lloyds TSB for my PPI claim, i don't want to jump the gun and accept without thinking it through - was pointed here by a friend as somewhere i maybe could get a bit of advice - hope its ok to jump straight in like this . . here are the details
April 2007 - 5k initial loan - took out PPI but cancelled shortly after
March - 2008 - revised loan, back up to 5k (£6,541 overall total) take out further PPI on the revised 5k loan (self employed but out of work at this point)
so far i have paid 7k of the agreement with a further 3k remaining - i have just received a settlement offer of 1.7k from Lloyds TSB, directly.
this is the first offer they have made to me - is it fair or should i be looking for more - if the latter how do i go about it - would i shoot myself in the foot by saying im not happy with the offer etc ?
i bank with Lloyds TSB as well, if that makes any difference ?
thanks

Hi Bill
You should receive what you paid of the PPI to the cancellation date and so on, with the relevant interest.
How did they word the letter exactly?
Was it based on an offer, or did they confirm it was upheld?
If upheld that means it should be as stated above all you paid of the ppi to date etc, with an offer it can be anything they think reasonable.
So double check on the letter again.
You can of course ring them to ask them to explain on how they calculated.
Good luck and well done!;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Email the CEO Robert Diamond robert.diamond@barclaysplc.com
Remind him of his statement "no quibble" refunds
http://www.moneywise.co.uk/news/2011-06-13/barclays-promising-no-quibble-ppi-payouts
Ask Diamond why he said this as it's simply not true.
You must be hard with BARCLAYS and do not put up with their rubbish, in my view ....BOB DIAMOND LIED TO THE MEDIA AND CONSUMERS
Listen to Beamerguy on this 1 people as Barclays phoned me today to make an offer of a refund after originally turning me down!!
The lady mentioned i'd made numerous calls AND ALSO SENT AN EMAIL. 4days later they are on it with the money haha.
Worked a treat 4me hope it does for all u others who got robbed off Barclays.
Thanks Beamer & the gang on here who keep us numpties right lolLibraries gave us power, then work came and made us free...:D0 -
As cappo had said they like to play silly, and none more so than Yorkshire and Clydesdale Banks.
I would contact your branch as they will hold details of loans on the system, and you can get the loan account numbers and amounts etc from them, if you do online banking at all, you may find these on electronic statements or lists of direct debits, the DD's would have the loan number as the reference.
You can do a SAR and pay £10 and this will give you all the details they hold on you, they don't need to keep agreements once a loan is paid off, although they should for at least 6/7 years after it's finished for tax reason's but knowing the banks they'll have a way out of it.
If you're still having problems getting details after asking in at the branch, use these email addresses to try and get some help.
AQU.PPI@eu.nabgroup.com this is for the ppi customer services team, and this one is for the CEO david.thorburn@eu.nabgroup.com just say that your trying to find out details of loans that you once had and whether or not there was ppi etc.
We were lucky to have two loans repaid with Clydesdale Bank from 2002 and 2006, when we first complained a couple of years ago we were rejected and they also found all the loan paperwork and the initial leaflet that we completed, but after the high court case we re-raised a complaint and won.
Anything else just ask:D
Thankyou, good to hear about a win from Clydesdale.. Was getting a bit worried about the lack of posts about them on the forum, is there a reason for that, or am I missing all the posts about them? So it will also contain all the visa information on the SAR also? And how long do I wait before my next move? The worrying thing is I'm becoming a bit too obsessed, when I'm not working my times spent reading this forum.
Thanyou to cappo also for your help, I'm loving your work guys, you do a great job, helping people stand up for themselves and claim.
Right bedtime as iv had to write this post out twice, I deleted the first draft. Although when I post it, it will probably come up twice on the screen, lol. Thankyou again,
Nikki x0
