The firm should not draw a negative inference from a complainant not having kept documentation relating to the purchase of the policy for any particular period of time
no joy, fos it mate, steve
You and Bemerguy are absolute stars, what would I do without you all, not forgetting Di.
Thanks so much
UPDATE
Received a phone call from Yorkshire Bank today re the letter I sent stating the FOS Handbook 3.3.89 3.3.39 they say they cant find the details of the loans I had with them which were paid off in 1998 and 2001. Even though I still bank with them and have done since 1983. They said that they cant do anything about it as I don't have the loan agreements so no evidence of PPI I only the statements showing the payments going out every month. I can't believe this as the teller gave me the loan numbers over the counter and the loan account numbers were on my SAR. I could go to FOS but without the original documentation there isn't a lot they can do.
Any advice please of where to go from here, if I owed them money they would still have the data wouldn't they!0 -

Thanks Cappo, I will wait for the official letter and take it from there. He knew I meant business today, he said he would make other enquiries and get a reply back to me, but it really didn't seem positive. I did say that HSBC paid me out on a loan from 1996 and I never banked with them or had to go through this process, they just made enquires and paid £2400 out!!!0 -

Thank you, I appreciate the support, cant believe everyone except santander for store cards (with FOS) and my own bank -Yorkshire have turned me down, when everyone else has paid out.
MBNA £8,938.75 ,
Co Op £150,
Santander CC £621.15 ,
Santander Loan £295.23 ,
HSBC £2437.37

In fact this site gave me confidence to try for miss sold an endowment and guess what -today I received a cheque for £9,749.26 (they took 2k off for tax)from my mortgage provider.
So a grand total of £22,255.68:j
I couldnt have done it without this website and all you fabulous people
We are still waiting on 3 small claims for my husband (Barclay card and 2x Lloyds TSB and of course my two lodged FOS, plus my Yorkshire Bank loans0 -
Now heard a rumour over the road that all online credit card applications that have been done online or by post are being rejected by the banks and the fos now, i will try to get more info on this and come back on and post shortly if this rumour is substantiated which as i've said it isn't yet.
This seems to be true as 3 colleagues have been turned down this week, which were all credit card application on line, they put in a copy of my form and I was upheld yet they were all turned down this week, yet another colleague using my form again but was a phone application was upheld for £1,7000 -

On what grounds were they turned down Lisa, what was said, I can find nothing about this, one would have thought that Martin would have picked up this one0 -

Post no 24405 on this page was one colleague, another one I already completed a letter for her changing what you and cappo had given me previously and asking them to reconsider and the third is bringing me her letter in on Monday

guys, someone was talking about this on another thread a wee while ago to say they had heard this is happening, and seemingly FOS wont support it either, but going back a few years ago it was the norm to have the boxes pre-ticked and if you didn't want the ppi you had to untick the box, rather than ticking the box to say you wanted it. I think finding posts from people who have successfully complained about the pre ticked boxes. When I took out my Barclaycard, I went through I think three times of offering the ppi, and as i'm a civil servant delcined them all, but another screen would pop up saying are you sure, then are you really really sure etc. I think at this point if I had chosen it, there's no way they would pay out, but I don't know what it was like before this.
Lisa, is it YB thats refusing to pay out? Thanks to all the competition posters.0
