    To Andrea Barry,

I have banked with Halifax since it was the Leeds Building Society, I am now 70 Years of age.

I have 3 claims for PPI Misselling lodged with your bank and they were sent to you on the 16th May 2011, all three have been upheld and another one has been rejected, as to which I am sending to F.O.S
It is now 22 weeks since I sent the claims in and over 6 weeks since I was told that they have been sent to the Calculations Department. I have not heard a word since.
As previously mentioned I am now 70 Years of Age and would like to see MY MONEY RETURNED whilst I am still on this earth to enjoy it.

On the 26th September 2011, 5 weeks ago my Local MP of Bassetlaw, Mr John Mann wrote to the Halifax on my behalf and has since not had the courtesy of a reply. I think this goes to show if an MP cannot receive a reply , then this is proof of the contempt you have for your customers and the way you disregard the FSA rules of 16 weeks backs this up.
I wonder if a sit in or a protest of OAPS outside the Retford Halifax branch should take place to highlight this terrible situation would shake you out of your compliancey?

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE PUT ETHIC BACK INTO BANKS!!!!

I await your reply - if with any anticipation!?

    Dear so-cheesed-of

What a fantastic letter, I really hope you get a response and soon. Enjoy spending the money that is rightfully yours - have you any plans on how you would like to spend it?? Good Luck.
  • Hi
I wonder if you can help I am just about to use all the fab information on here to launch a reclaim with MBNA. I did make a claim on the policy but still believe i was misold as I am a teacher and already have protection, the policy only pays out for complete months. Am I able to make a claim?
I know they have paid out but a tiny sum compared to what they have taken from me and if i had been fully informed about the policy I would not have taken it. They did not check about employer or other arrangements.
    Thanking you for any advice

Brilliant letter well done. I have my concerns about the viability of Halifax / Lloyds for some time now, With Lloyds now in the red, the CEO going on sick leave due to stress, there is something very seriously wrong within this group hence the continuous delaying tactics they use.

You must apply as much pressure as you can to get your money as fast as you can as the repayments of PPI's has put this group in the red, the trouble is, its only the tip of the iceberg for claims and all banks should expect a huge increase as more and more people hear about this. Even banks do not have a bottomless pit of money

Hi, if as you say MBNA did not advise you correctly, did not explain about the cover they offered to insure you would be covered, you have a claim.
MBNA uses St Andrews insurance for their PPI's and the policy is so restrictive that most people would fail in a claim.

St Andrews is part of the Lloyds Banking Group thereby opening a can of worms
  • Hi everyone,

    I'm new to MSE.

A year or so ago my husband attempted to reclaim PPI from Lloyds on a loan due to the fact he was self employed and the policy wouldn't have covered him, the claim was refused and us being completely clueless didn't pursue it any further.

Would it be worth us trying again now?

    Thanks

A year ago all banks were refusing but since the High Court case where the banks lost they are now forced to repay mis-sold policies.

If LLoyds knew your hubby was self employed, which they would have done, then as the policy would not cover him, you have been misold and therefore you can claim all payments back plus 8% interest.
