    - They will remove anything to do with PPI from my loan (ie. PPI amount + PPI interest charges). You get the ppi total taken off your balance, not the interest.

Thanks amersall, I understand the bit about PPI being removed from my balance, but regarding interest...

Any refund would consist of the following:
    • PPI payments made to date
    • Interest I have already paid, related to PPI (Interest on the loan was calculated after PPI was added @11.5% variable APR)
    • An ADDITIONAL 8% interest
And this amount would be paid back to me, NOT deducted from my outstanding loan?

    Is this correct?
    Many Thanks!

I believe the ppi monthly amount includes the interest.
Niggly is the guy who can help you with this, hopefully he will come along and help you with this.
You will get the payments made with the 8% back to you.
    Look here
    http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/bank-charges#step2
Put the month date and year of each ppi monthly payment you have made to this month,it will add the ppi and the 8% up and the total at the end is what you will get back.

Further to my correspondance with "beamerguy" about my Egg Card PPI claim that was rejected on the fact that I applied online back in 2001, and ticked the T&C box. I sent a copy of your letter to Barclays CEO - no answer.

Then I tried to find an address to send it to Egg, to no avail, so I called them, and the guy explained that because they closed the claim (after telling me I did not have a case), I would not be able to further claim on that case (and he did not give me any postal address), and advised me to directly contact the FOS, and make the claim thru them.

Is it a lie to diffuse things ? Is he right ? ? Any idea what to do next ?

Hi. I was just wondering whether someone could help us. I have read all the information on reclaiming ppi but still unsure of what to do fist.
My husband took a credit card out with halifax nearly 6 years ago. The first few years he hardly used it and when he did, he repayed it very quickly. However in the last few years we have used it more frequently and have quite a large balance on it. We have just realised on our last statement we have payed 'repayment cover'. We havent got all our statements as we tend to shred them. I have a couple however, and have noticed we have been charged 'repayment cover' on those too. My husband never thought he had taken any insurance out with the card as he has his own private insurance policy and therefore has never needed it and doesnt want it.
Do you think we can reclaim? and where should i start?

    Cool, thanks!

I'd calculated the total PPI payments I'd made (inc. interest) with 8% additional interest added as a percentage of the total, forgetting that earlier payments made back in 2008 would generate more interest than more recent payments.

According to this calculator, if I get a refund I stand to gain nearly £6,700, as well as be over £120 a month lighter in PPI payments for the next 17 years!

Please let it happen! Thanks amersall

Firstly send Bob Diamond another email stating you are still waiting for his reply to your email.

The man from Egg is an idiot to say that and IT IS NOT TRUE.
This is fast becoming a way out for banks to buck pass it to the FOS creating even longer delays.

In your email to Diamond, head it COMPLAINT and go on to complain about Egg and the statement above.

Remember, nothing is finally closed until you are satisfied, the so called "final" is utter rubbish, some of these idiot banks think they are God ??
