Hello,
I am currently awaiting cheques from First Plus however wondered if anyone can help with a query I have with Barclays (a loan I currently have with them).
Just wondered if I could claim PPI however still keep the loan going as I cant afford to pay it off. Details as follows.
Cash loan - £13,000
PPI - £3,183
Loan started - 14 Nov 2007
Loan term - 15 years
Currently paying £150 a month back (with the interest being about £90).
They said I can apply for the £3,000 cashback next year however is it worth me writing a letter regarding the PPI? How should I word it? Any help would be gratefully received.
Thanks.
Well done to those who have received good news

Hi, you firstly need to establish that if you had to claim against the PPI WOULD THE POLICY COVER YOUR CIRCUMSTANCES.
If not, then you have grounds to complain0 -
I submitted my ppi claim on 1st June 2011 & received the standard response letter from RBS dated 13th June 2011.
After leaving it for the 16 weeks I'd still heard nothing so after countless attempts at trying, I finally got through on their claims helpline 2 weeks ago & was told my acceptance letter had gone out in the post on 23rd September. They wouldn't tell me what the letter said but advised they'd resend the letter & it would arrive within 5 working days.
And guess what?? Still no letter!! I've tried ringing so many times now I've lost count, but I can never get through! I've no idea if my claim has been successful or not but how do I find out when I can't speak to anyone??
Any ideas of what to do next would be greatly appreciated!!
Hi
It maybe a good idea to ask your local MP to write to them, they will not ignore your MP, and ask your MP to send you a copy of the letter, and whatever correspondence he or she receives.
Tell them your not getting anywhere and its now becoming very stressful and you are asking for their help.
Good luck. The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

Just put that this was a loan on a loan that you pay to term end with interest, had you been given enough information re this ppi to the true cost, you would not have taken it,you dont feel you were given enough advice regarding this ppi to make an informed decision.
Put that you will get the 3,000 back but it is still on your loan with interest..
Just so i know, does the ppi last the full term of the loan? if it doesnt, put that as well, that you will still be paying for something that has ended.0 -

Hi there
We do not normally suggest using claims companies and nor are they dealt with any quicker.
From what we are aware of, its less hassle doing your own reclaim and also less paperwork involved, so I am not sure if you should actually be advertising the company.
Please could you edit and delete the name of the business, or maybe speak to one of the MSE administrators to ask for permission, cheers. The one and only "Dizzy Di"0
