PPI Reclaiming Discussion part 4

Hi All
Congrats to all recent winners.
Please could someone confirm if this is correct:
Welcome have upheld 3 mis sale of PPI on my dads loans, loans that have been settled already. Welcome now want to take the refund of this and pay it off a loan that is current and has no PPI.
My understanding was that if the loan was settled and the current loan is NOT in arrears then in theory that money is now my dads. Because it was his money to start with. I have told them that it's not up to them to decided where the money goes, as they mis-sold in the first place.
Any input would be appreciated.
Thanks
Problem is Emma, if your dad still owes money to them, all companies have the right to offset a refund against what they are owed.
BUT HEY ... Welcome are in default, meaning they are bust ? Who is your Dad paying money to0 -

I submitted my ppi claim on 1st June 2011 & received the standard response letter from RBS dated 13th June 2011.
After leaving it for the 16 weeks I'd still heard nothing so after countless attempts at trying, I finally got through on their claims helpline 2 weeks ago & was told my acceptance letter had gone out in the post on 23rd September. They wouldn't tell me what the letter said but advised they'd resend the letter & it would arrive within 5 working days.
And guess what?? Still no letter!! I've tried ringing so many times now I've lost count, but I can never get through! I've no idea if my claim has been successful or not but how do I find out when I can't speak to anyone??
Any ideas of what to do next would be greatly appreciated!!0 -

Had PPI out with Great Universal catalogue, (now K & Co) which i've had for numerous years, till im finally trying to get myself sorted. The insurance people who the catalogue have now is Avivia, but they have changed. Put in a claim for PPI in september, with catalogue first, who then said it's with Avivia.. Now Avivia are saying that the catalogue people are not giving them the information that they need, dispite numerous attempts. So even though its been a few months already Avivia are saying that until they get all the info, it's not a complaint, which then will be 12 more weeks wait?0

Nookie, do you actually mean "Aviva" If you have a policy number with them, tell them. HOWEVER, the responsibility is with the company who sold you the policy and I assume, Great Universal or whatever name they call themselves now
PS: do you live up to your user name ???0 -
