PPI Reclaiming Discussion part 4

WHAT A LOADA RUBBISH. The FSA have already said that this is unfair as most of these companies pre-ticked the box and it was left to you to untick it, plus, they should have explained fully about the PPI and if it was suitable for your needs, if they did not, then the contract is unfair regardless if you read the terms and conditions.
THE EGG NEEDS TO BE CRACKED
Write back and say you never ticked the box knowingly as you did not want PPI which they have added without your permission, request the URL of the web site they claim you did this on
Hi Beamerguy
I have had the same rejection letter from EGG with regard to a credit card I took out with them in 2001. I believe it was a pre-ticked box, as I was only in part-time employment then and the whole reason for taking out a credit card was to help with costs etc., so why would I purposefully increase my monthly payments to include insurance when I could not have claimed on it, I would always have wanted to pay more off the balance rather than waste it on insurance. The sent a rejection. I then sent a SAR. All the copies of the statements etc., arrived apart from the actual signed contract. I had to chase this from them - they firstly wanted an extra £1 for this piece of information but after a long argument, they had to agree it should had been included within the SAR. This document has now arrived and I can see that I have signed in one place only accepting the card - nowhere have I signed to agree to PPI - in fact no mention of it at all on the acceptance sheet. So I have disputed this again, asking them to send me proof.
The outcome is this, they confirm I purchased the insurance and they are satisfied that this was done correctly and that I was presented with all necessary details etc., The card did not require me to take out this insurance, they do not provide an advisory service, they require me to positively confirm that I wished to purchase this policy during the online application, provided terms and conditions. and finally the option to take this protection was not pre-selected on my online egg card application.
I still do not agree and want the proof - would you be happy to help me with one of your brilliant letters back.
My husband applied for a card at the same time as me - he was self-employed then and still is. He has complained and has been upheld!! He again would never have agreed to PPI because of being self-employed.
Please can you help at all0 -

Sorry to be a pain, but would just like a bit of advice please.
Our mortgage with LTSB was paid off in 2006, and I don't have the paperwork other than the letter confirming the mortgage (including the number) was paid off. I am unsure what sort of insurance was on it, but suspect PPI. (I don't think I ever had anything from LTSB without it, and firmly believed that their policy was not to deal with anyone who didn't sign up).
Do you think it is worth me sending in a letter to check, or is it too late?
Sorry if this has been mentioned before, but there are a heck of a lot of pages in this thread!
Thank you.0 -

Question How do scandals like PPI mis-selling help you focus because that's really bringing home that some bad things happened, and Lloyds has said itself it's sorry.
Answer PPI is not great. Full stop. We got to a stage, we've come out, we've made our commitment and we're now dealing with the complaints.
What you've got to do is learn from anything like that. You've got to be constantly looking at how we are working with our customers, how we are serving our customers, how we are designing products so as an industry we never end up in the situation that we're in today with PPI.
Never mind dealing with complaints, pay people back THEIR money and stop stalling :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:Successes

Yes i like there false posturing Dilus, they told me for 6 months i never even had ppi, an honourless bank, all empty words which don't mean a lot when you think of how many people there still hanging about for there money, that is of course if they'll even admit to people even having the insurance in the first place.0 -
Ha Ha i've now looked at the article on the mse news (ref improved customer service for LTSB customers), who is this martin dodd trying to kid, what a joke!0

Now realising I used to have a mortgage with Direct Line for 8 years (2000 - 2008), how do I find out if I was paying PPI on this ?
Hi
Contact Direct Line and they should still have the details as it was still active in 2008. They should be able to confirm, good luck.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0
