    Hi Cappo,

Received two letters from Halifax, one thanking me for my email to Antonio Osorio dated 7th October and that my email has been forwarded to experienced complaint handler. Also another one 12th October saying that the complaint has been forwarded to one of the customer services and this is what she writes her words " Your complaint has been forwarded to me to deal with and respond to you. My understanding of your complaint is you are unhappy with your refund being paid to the insolvency practitioner. In our letter dated 22nd September, we confirmed the insolvency practitioner has instructed us to issue all refunds due to them. We are in receipt of our discharge letter, however we are bound by the insolvency practitioners decisions. Any objections you have regarding this you wil need to contact them. I feel that there is no further information in relation to your payment protection insurance mis-sale allegations that we can provide to you regarding your concerns about where any refunds will be paid. I have now closed our file and suggest if you are still unhappy regarding the outcome you should refer your concerns to the insolvency practitioner or Financial Ombudsmans Services (FOS) as previously advised"

Cappo, this is most chilling letter I have ever received. This letter had written to me before and I think she is feed up with their ceo's office forwarding my emails to her.

Cappo, someone here called Mich was paid his money by producing just like myself a discharge letter. His bank Lloyds. Halifax and Lloyds are one and the same bank, how could one person be paid and the other refused yet the same ceo.

Hi virtuous, i'd talk to the fos about this and see what there spin on it is, if you've been discharged that should be it.

    hi, hoping for some advice...
we took out a £15k loan in may 2007. the ppi was an extra £3673.50 and the loan is over 20 years.
the ppi was sold as part of the deal as we were told we could reclaim the ppi in full after 5 years if no claims were made.
we are coming up to the 5 year period of no claims and are wondering whether we are better off claiming back the ppi via the letter found on this site or if it's best to just wait for the 5 year period to end.
does the ppi letter get just the ppi money back or is there compensation as well?
Thanks for any advice you can give
You could go mis sell now,if you win the total ppi is taken off your loan, this reduces the balance and your monthly payment by the ppi monthly amount, you get the ppi you have paid to date, this includes interest plus 8% back to you.

You could wait and get the "cashback" and then go mis sell,as the "cashback" (ppi) will still be on your loan to term end with interest,so they are not giving you the ppi back as you are still paying it.
It is up to you what you decide to do.

This is a frontloaded ppi and the most upheld of all mis sell,

If you decide to go mis sell, use this letter.

We/I believe we were mis sold the ppi on the above account number.
1)We/I were not told that the ppi was in effect another loan that was added to the original loan and was repayable over the loan term with interest.

    2) We/I were not told that the ppi only covered us for 5 years, but the ppi would still be on the loan to term end with interest.

    3) We/I were told that if we did not make a claim on the ppi ,after 5 years we would recieve the ppi as cashback, and to look on this as savings plan.. But were not told that the ppi would be on the loan to term end with interest and the cashback of ppi would not include the interest that we paid over the 5 years.

In line with the FOS recommendations it is requested that the overall situation be restored as if PPI had never been included. This will entail:
    a) A refund of the monthly payments that have actually been paid towards the overall loan in excess of those that would have been needed, if the original loan had been sold without the PPI policy;
    b) Restructuring of the loan going forward so that the amount owed, the monthly repayments, the term and the charges reflect those that would have applied, if the original loan had been sold without the PPI policy.
    c) In addition, interest at the rate of 8% simple per annum to any excess payments made from the time each payment was made to the point that Firstplus pays them back to us. We/i believe we were not given enough information on this ppi to make an informed decision. Had we/i known the full cost of this ppi we would not have taken it.

Unless you can prove without doubt that this PPI policy was fair, reasonable and suitable for my/our circumstances we/I will require you to rearrange the loan as if PPI had never been included on the above loan.

  • Hi

I am going to start a claim for PPI i got on my mortgage 4 years ago. Could someone maybe clarify one thing for me - my initial mortgage was with Alliance & Leicester. I am still with them, but it is now Santander, so who do I write to? I presume Santander, but if someone could clarify, that would be rgeat.

    Thanks!
    :money:

The address I was given for Santander PPI claims and to which I wrote 2 days ago is:

    Santander
    PO Box 1111
    Bradford
    BD1 9NQ

    Good luck!
  • Now realising I used to have a mortgage with Direct Line for 8 years (2000 - 2008), how do I find out if I was paying PPI on this ? :)
  • Just called Egg. Again, ever so helpful. They have told me something new about my Egg Visa card, taken out in 2001, and for which I paid PPI till 2010!!! They said they cannot pay the PPI back because at the time, I bought the credit card online and ticked the PPI box without knowing what it was, but also without reading the T&Cs so on that basis, they said to me they cannot pay the PPI back as I ticked the box willingly :(

Any chance to dispute that ? Thanks !

Hi jean the online one's are a bit harder to prove misold on but not impossible, if you have reason to believe you were misold contact them again and ask them to reconsider, plenty of people have won misold on cards purchased online, good luck

    Hi,

After LTSB decided to reject my complaint last week, I sent the CEO an email as I knew I had a genuine case and today got a letter back and they are refunding all PPI.
A big thank you to beamerguy who helped with the email, probably couldn't have done it without him.

WHAT A LOADA RUBBISH. The FSA have already said that this is unfair as most of these companies pre-ticked the box and it was left to you to untick it, plus, they should have explained fully about the PPI and if it was suitable for your needs, if they did not, then the contract is unfair regardless if you read the terms and conditions.

THE EGG NEEDS TO BE CRACKED

Write back and say you never ticked the box knowingly as you did not want PPI which they have added without your permission, request the URL of the web site they claim you did this on
