Going back to your case, you can only try.
Write to them and tell them you want this looked at as a brand new complaint as you were mis sold this product with being just a student at the time.
(maybe you had personal reasons - of why you did not continue at that particular time).
Its worth another shot hun, if you get any problems, just have a word with the FOS and see what they have to say:

You can always bring up that they did not cancel this when you asked them to do so in your letter as your still paying for something that is worthless to you. (did you know if they definately received your letter of cancellation), did you post by recorded delivery to make sure?
Good luck with this.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Hi Kate
Just to make sure I have this right now, do you mean you were given a Final response which they did not uphold in your favour, where then you could have taken this to the FOS to have this investigated and you did not take this up at the time?
Cheers.
Hi Di,
Yes, that's right
Thanks

Just making sure on this one, was it a student credit card like this one here?

I note there is protection on this but not the same as what their other credit cards offer, so just want to make sure, just in case.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

Thanks Di for your speedy advice. Much appreciated.
I asked them to cancel the PPI in my final complait letter to them - they replied to the complaint part (ie with their final response) but not to the cancellation part.
I shall persevere! Nothing to lose and plenty to gain!!

Exactly.......:D :T , well you give it a go hun, if you were sold the wrong cover with being a student then really they should have upheld this for you when you did complain, and at least made sure it was right for you on the sale of this.;)
I will keep my fingers crossed for you.

Thanks anyway.

In my opinion you have a strong case and they tried fobbing you off, so yes write to them and tell them you have looked into this matter more recently and also in the media and you will not hesitate to take this matter further if they do not uphold you.
Keep us posted and give us a yell for any further help you may require.;)

Hi Angie
Yes you can. If you ring them up and ask them for a copy of the original agreement that should be fine that costs 1.00. If they are not willing to do so or cannot find the records etc send a SAR letter you will find at the top on the first page of this thread. Send 10.00 to your lender adapt the letter to fit your requirements try to adapt it to make it a bit more personal. Send recorded delivery and give them 40 days to reply. They should send you all the information you require.
If you have no account nos there are a couple of things you may be able to do. If you have an Experian account you could look it up on there. You could subscribe but after the first month cancel your subscription.
Another thing is if you do internet banking you could look the account numbers up from there.
If this does not work the SAR will try to give them as much info as possibe. e,.g. DOB, address aat time you took the loans out that type of information.
Good luck and let us know when you hear something back and we can then guide you further.
Good Luck:D0
