PPI Reclaiming Discussion part 4

This may seem a dumb question but i am waiting on settlement from TPF after fos intervention. I was wondering how much i should get back. Will i receive the whole ppi payment (which was added on at the beg of the loan) plus 8% interest for every year, or will i just receive back the actual payments i made, as the loans were settled early and i had a loan rebate with both. Both ppi policys were added on at the start as a loan.
Any help would be grateful
I have sent my acceptance letter back to the ombudsman and I have to wait 6-8 weeks from when Tesco's receive it to get my money back. I am going to ring Tesco at the end of the month to make sure they have received it. As Natalie rang them the other day and they said they had not received her's yet and she had to ring the FOS and they said they would resend it.0 -
Showergirl,
did you phone Tesco or the rbs in Manchester?0 -

Hi all i m hoping someone brainy can help here and quick if possible.Had our letter from norton stating how much we are going to get from our mis-selling of PPi claim after the FO went in our favour.
The letter reads
The amount of redress is as follows:
Payment Protection insurance premium
£14947.50 (this sum is right)
Interest paid up to date of settlement
£524.91
8% interest as per financial ombudsman
£925.47
Refund of 3 ppi payments made
£442.38
________________
£16840.26
Less rebate from First Plus
£5084.19
________________
£11756.07
I thought it was 8% per annun and also the 8% interest does nt add up to any total on this page.My maths is good but i m sure its around £1500 light.

Anyway, today I got an offer of £199, comprising waht they say were the actual insurance payments made, plus some interest.
This seemed fair enough until I read Martin's post from way back, which suggested 15% of total repayments, might be the rule of thumb.
Question is, should I accept? I don't know what the PPI portion of the loan actually has been, so should I take their word? Any advice appreciated.
Thanks a lot.
Hi there
If you can write to them to ask them to send you a full written breakdown of this, this should show what is what, when they arrive post them on the reclaiming discussion thread next to this one and I'm sure they will be looked at for you, you don't want to be down on the money they should really pay you back hun.;)
Its up to you but that is what I would do, good luck and please keep us posted, cheers.

Thanks Di, for your advice, here I am on the thread you meant (I hope), with some updated info.
After much searching through many years of documents (I know, I need to sort it out and I will soon, promise), I found a wee paragraph at the bottom of an A&L loan offer. It advised that the PPI element would cost me £4.97 per month. So their current offer of £199.76 reflects what I've paid plus some interest.
There doesn't seem much to argue about, either in the way they've dealt with it, or the amount offered.
Cheers

I have had a letter today from the adjudicator to say the case is now with him and he's provided his contact details etc.
Does anyone know how long this stage would normally take?
I assume he already has all the documents he needs from Barclays?
I wouldn't say my case is complex, so can't imagine it to take much longer.
My first communication with the ombudsman was in May last year.0 -

Hi there
Good news its been finally passed on to the adjudicator.:T
Right normally in the first stages they look through your side of things, and request for all the information from the other party within the first 2 weeks of your complaint being passed on to them.
The FOS generally gives them a certain time limit to pass the information back to them.
So as soon as they receive the information, if the adjudcator thinks your case should be upheld they will let the other party know and give them time to put this right or maybe forward more information.
This can take anything from a few weeks to a few months, if its straight forward and does not become complex your talking a few weeks, but if the other party still does not believe your case should be upheld, the adjudicator will pass on your investigation with his or her views to another adjudicator working closely to the ombudsman, again if not successful its then moved on to the ombudsman himself.
Hope this helps hun, everyone will have their own experience with the FOS, and they can vary, but hopefully you should receive some good news sooner rather than later.;)
You can email or contact your adjudicator every other week or so where they should get back and let you know where they are at the time with your case.
Keep us posted hun, and the very best of luck.;)
