i have had a credit card since '88 and was missold P.P.I.. i have contacted loyds and they have agreed to pay it back plus 8% but only have 6 yrs of info and having had a accident and being unable to work full time i paid off my balance 6 years ago and have used my card sparingly since but i had some statements of my active use going back to 2001. After 2 3/4 hours on hold, i got hold of someone and they told me where to sent info. 4 days later i got a letter offering me a final offer but not saying how they got to that figure. When i add up the P.P.I. they are only offering to repay the sum on the statements i sent and i only sent 1 every 3 months, as requested, as it shows the balance doesnt change that much in between. i spent another 1 1/2 on hold to ask how they came about the figure to be told the person did nt know but if i called again this week they may know then. i said i would not call but to write to me and give me a person i could contact ( preferably by e-mail) and was told no thats not possible. i have spent in total nearly 6 hours on hold and thats over £15. What do i do? i have contacted the ombusman but i then have to start the whole thing again
i recieved £30 for hanging on the phone for one hour last week, especially if you tell them you will take it further by going to FOS.
You need to send ALL statements (copies) you have that show ppi paid before the time they are paying you up to,enclose a letter with these telling them you are not happy with the way your claim has been dealt with and ask them to reconsider the offer given the extra statements.0 -
Just to update you on a recent win of mine.....
Hamilton/Endeavour now known as HFC.
The amounts refunded will be:
£2619 for PPI & Interest
£250 for further compo for the Distress and Inconvenience.
(discreetly by the business, for the wrong information given since 2008).
Total = £2869
Well chuffed, thank you all for giving me the strength to carry on with this since 2008, Marshallka you encouraged me from the start back then.
Cheers all xxxxxxx

thanks amersall,
Everytime i have eventually got through to loyds i have complained about the time in hold and have kept a log of how long and how much these calls have cost after the 1st hour. when i got through to them they told me to just send, by e-mail, a selection of copies of statements so they could get the pattern of spending then when i sat with a culculator i added it up and they have only used the months i have sent the statements , so i sent them the rest and was told after another 48 minutes on hold, that these had been taken into account. i disagreed so i asked to be sent a copy of their calculations and was told to call back on Wednesday. i refused and asked to be SENT by either e-mail or post details but nothing. i am also being told that although i have the original ppi document that show i have paid it since '88 they will only pay from the dates of statements without even a goodwill gesture or anything0 -

When you have finished the call put a complaint in http://www.lloydstsb.com/contact_us/complaints_procedure.asp
Regarding the phone calls and duration of these.
If you get no joy regarding the statements put a seperate complaint in about these too.
When you get the calculations post them here

Someone will look at these for you and we will take it from there.
Dont even consider using a claims company, they cannot get you anymore than you can yourself, please let us help you first and see if you get the redress,it may be that you have to go to FOS,the wait is long, but if you went to a claims co,they would only put it to FOS and will charge you a ridiculous % for the privilege.0 -
Hi All,
I posted a little while ago to say that thanks to the information on this site and forum, I started my "PPI Complaint" journey by sending off a covering letter and 5 questionnaires to Barclays (2 x CC and 3 x Loans). I'm just reporting that I have had my acknowledgement letter back with a promise to deal with my complaints by 12th December, so I'm in the system!
Incidentally, the letter refers to an enclosed leaflet about Barclays' complaints process, which was not in the envelope! Barclays "effective" customer communications systems demonstrated right there! It would have been useful for contact numbers/emails too, so I'm going to request it.
Thanks again for all of the information and advice.
Good luck to everyone in the process and congratulations to those who have been successful in being refunded
I shall now patiently await my response, but with fervent hope

Hi all,
My first time on the forum. I have browsed it in the past but never posted. Could anyone advise me if I would be wasting my time trying to reclaim a PPI miss sell against the Abbey National for a loan taken out in 1998. I have the loan reference number (found details going through all my 'misc' documents). Would Santander/Abbey look at this?
Cheers,

If any/all apply to you then put a claim in.
You can do this over the phone if you want.
