hi,
just had a letter from Funding Corporation saying further to our telephone call on 8th August, this was me phoning to say I was unhappy as per their rejection letter telling me to get in touch if I was unhappy with their response (had 8 wks to do so) and to ask what I had to send them for SAR as we have moved house since loan application.
They are now stating this letter was their final response, now you would think because I had phoned telling them I was going to take it further and that SAR had been sent and the contents of which I only got last Thursday, they would have kept file opened!
Anyway, because of work and kids I am just in the process of finishing letter - Do I sent it to them or FOS, I should say that I am adding new points of complaint to letter?
Can anyone please give me link to FSA handbook that deals with PPI?
many thanks
Hiya
Maybe they fobbed you off because it was not in writing, on the phone its taking the chance really, because in writing you can explain why your not happy and give any further details to support your complaint.
You could write to them just to confirm because they have not given the opportunity you are now taking further action with your evidence you have on the mis sale.
Do not tell them the FOS, they may think you are going the court way if you know what I mean.;) You never know they may even decide to change the decision.........(hopefully).
Details of how to complain to the FOS below.

Hi, we recieved a letter from Santander offering us a refund of just over 4k on a loan my boyfriend took out years ago. I had no idea that the PPI miss selling had affected us untill I looked into it more, and now I realise that he was miss sold PPI on 2 credit cards. I want to try and reclaim the money for him, but the accounts are in arrears, and he is making an agreed minimum payment currently. Obviously any money that he can reclaim (if any) would pay off the balance, but will they consider a PPI refund when the account is in arrears?
Logically I think they should, as the main cause of the arrears is due to the PPI payments, but they dont always work logically!
Would it be worth mentioning that we want to pay all arrears and settle the balance with any payment? or is this not necessary? thanks
Well done on the win!
And yes you can still make a reclaim if in a payment plan and the ppi would probably be worthless to you now anyway if on a payment plan, because he would not be able to make a claim for sickness/unemployment etc.
They will probably use the refund towards the arrears, if anything remaining should come back to you, and the interest is normally awarded to you as well to what I am aware of.
Give it a go, good luck. The one and only "Dizzy Di"

Have you got the figures yet?.HSBC made me an offer for PPI on a personal loan that was rolled in to another. Both had PPI on them and the offer is for the PPI only (on both loans). I read the FSA guidance and expected HSBC to factor in PPI amount from the first loan that rolled in to the second? But I haven't got any paperwork about the settlement figure which was £19,000 (for a £15,000 loan!). Would this sar thing help? The settlement happened more than 6 years ago?
Any advice would be much appreciated! These threads are a bit confusing - let me know if I should be putting this somewhere else?
Cheers!
The ppi will be paid for both loans, taking into consideration the ppi rebate you had for the 1st loan and the remaining ppi that was put onto the 2nd loan, plus the ppi from the second loan.0 -
Hi all, I'm yet another long time lurker on here. I sent off my questionnaires to egg and HSBC at the end of may this year. Egg responded within 2 weeks with a big fat cheque for £3600 from my credit card. HSBC took a bit longer and sent their final response 2 days short of the 16 week deadline with an offer of £3561! I've finally stopped jumping around in joy that I'm debt free for the 1st time in 16 years. I just need to check the breakdown as I'm not sure that I have the 8% interest in that offer (am I legally entitled to this or is it at the banks discretion?) anyway just wanted to say thanks too all of you that advise and answer questions on here, you've been great as I've skulked in the background like a stalker!0

Hi
I took out a professional loan when I was doing my degree and started making payments when I started to work. Does anyone know if these loans had a ppi??? I have since paid the loan off but think if it did the I was mis-sold as I graduated as a doctor and pay my own insurance for loss of job/sickness etc anyway.
Thanks
