    Hi,
Do you think I need to add or take anything out the letter?
  • Wonder if someone would take a look at these figures xxx am currently turning this down with Santander and requesting the reinvestigate  as the policy ran till May 2005 as I had initially thought. I received my credit card PPI with same company Dec 2002 -May 2005 both policies were cancelled on same day. My query is the interest stated on this, looking at other claims on here. it looks kinda high for the payments made, wary of rocking the boat if this initial calculation is incorrect........

PPI monthly Premiums £524.09 ( this is from Jan 2003-Feb 2004)
Interest on premiums to date £1230.86
    total refund £1754.95

Is a flexible loan or was before switching to Santander, account is still active. opened 2nd Dec 2002. Apr on opwning was 6.9% increased slightly over the years then jumped hugely to 23% in April 2010 when Santander took over. many thanks in advance if u can help xx

It is perfect as it is,you get your points across very well.
    Good luck x.
  • Reading the success stories makes me hanker after a response from the FOS; any ideas how long it takes for them to respond and has anyone got any updates on responses from/involving Capital One. I'm sorry I can't keep track of the thread.

What years have they paid you from and to?.
They are giving you the correct redress so you will not be entitled to any extra, unless they have not paid you for the years you paid ppi and have only paid you for say the past 6 years, unless you have proof of ppi you paid before the dates they are refunding you.

You could SAR, but it may not be worth it,depending on when you took the card out.

It may be worth a try to get any late fees back regarding this card,it is worth a try,if it put you in financial hardship.

The card was taken out July 2008 through to date.
How would you proceed now...just accept their offer or go down the small claims court for compensation re misselling? (sorry on reading the letter again they agree to pay 8% on any intrest assuming i was in credit, which, seeings its a credit card that has £1000 on it I wouldnt be entitled to this)

good luck to everyone today :j
i have posted on here before and got some great advice from Di - still awaiting a decision from MBNA fingers crossed. I wondered if anyone could give me some advice, i lodged a complaint with firstplus last week, not a problem with having the ppi but i was not aware i would be paying interest on it for the duration of the loan (25yrs) they have replied saying i went through bespokefinance who ceased trading i wll have to contact FSCS ? Any help would be greatly appreciated ,
also is it me or are lloyds and Barclays really taking things to the wire ? spoke to lloyds yesterday 13 weeks in to a complaint to be told no news but they have never missed there 16 week target, but havent started mine yet ?
i also read here yesterday Barclaycard are struggling is this the case ?

    Hiya

    Hope you hear soon.;)

Right, I have made a successful reclaim through the FSCS over a year ago, via different company that went into default.

As we taken out the loan in 2005 they were regulated by the FSA, so the FSCS can also take the case on.
I had made a call to the FSCS and a few weeks later they posted a claim form, so contact them on the details below, ask if the business you are trying to make a reclaim from are listed with them.
    http://www.fscs.org.uk/contact-us/

For even more details, also check on the FSCS thread I posted on here some time ago as a Sticky thread, of companies in default, this is a rather long thread lol, but it may help.

I understand that banks are still having a job to keep up with the backlog, I am also still waiting to hear from Lloyds in regards of the last 2 loan ppi with them, but there is no harm in contacting them by email now and again on the address below to ask for updates.
Hope you hear soon, good luck all round.

    Hi
Im just wondering how others would proceed. I wrote to Lloyds on 10 May regarding the way in which PPI was sold on my credit card. On the 29 August (two days before the 16 week deadline) I recieve an offer of full premium refund plus 8% simple. The offer doesnt include any compensation for the fact I was missold the policy and indeed suffered financial hardship of making PPI payments.
Some claims management companies want in excess of 25% commission despite the fact Ive got a letter of offer/ theyve admitted misselling the policy.

Realistically the FOS arent going to award any compensation are they? The premiums paid over the last 38 months sum around £500, although I may write to them with a £10 cheque and request full access to my file.

How would others proceed from now?

    Hi there

Sorry if I mis read this.

Did you use a claims company for your reclaiming?

If a claims company is used, on success they do expect so much percent, but if you did this yourself you should be receiving the full compensation as they stated.
Although if the card is still active, they sometimes award towards the balance, more so if any arrears and on the interest side of it, to what I am aware of that should come back to you.
But do not quote me on this.

If this was resolved through the FOS they will discreetly state if there is further redress for the distress and inconvenience caused, more so if the business did not agree with the Adjudicators decision and you have to wait again for it to be passed on to the ombudsman for his or her decision.

Sorry if I have mis read on this, but maybe someone else on here will know the correct answer to this one, good luck.

    Hiya

I'm sure someone will be along soon to check these for you, sorry I am not the one for calculations, but otherwise there is a thread below called "How the FOS calculated PPI refunds" you could copy and paste your post here to over there.
    Good luck on this.:)
