Good to hear you're helping out, however, speaking from experience and almost anyone who's been in the same boat will tell him the same thing, once you seek help he will start to feel alot better.

My advice is go to DFW board and ask some of the 'experts' on there, there may be other things for him to consider too, like IVA's, as if he's only got that coming in, he needs a certain amount to live on, and if he doesn't have enough for that he won't have enough to pay off debts, unfortunately alot of these companies will use alot of underhanded ways to try and pressurise him, causing him un-neccesary stress.

Hi smitchy and wilf i was in the same position as both of you i had 47k worth of unsecured debt and i will say wilf it's too easy to do, i am not particularly good with money but to this day i don't quite know how i got there, the problem being you take out a credit card then pay it off with a loan and so it begins all over again when you remax out the credit card, i went onto a dmp and found that easier than going bankrupt which i could'nt do at the time, luckily for me i had critical illness insurance which when i had my stroke paid everything off thankfully, the easiest best way round it, is always talk to your creditors and you will find that most of them will cut you a deal, good luck and if you want to talk wilf just pm me, good luck:)

  • Morning
Congratulations to all who had success this week.
I am having a nightmare with my acceptance letter to RBS. I sent them recorded delivery on 1st Sept and they still havent been delivered. Called PO and was advised that they usually deliver within 5 working days however under terms and conditions they have 15 working days to deliver mail!! I called RBS and they are sending out copies for me and advised to check with them if originals have turned up before I spend money on special next day delivery. I checked with him re payout times and he stated maximum time for payout was 28 working days. So the upshot is pay for the special delivery!!

HI there - I also sent my acceptance letter by recorded delivery last saturday (3 sept) and still hasnt been delivered. contacted post office. very unhelpful. they said it could take until 22 sept. am afraid I lost my temper and put the phone down (foolish I know). Anyway fortunately i had taken a copy of my acceptance letter and have now faxed it to Halifax with another covering letter explaining why. dont know if they will accept a fax but I always live in hope.

    C.x
