hi conker how unfair, i'd send it in to the fos now, have you any reasons to fastrack your application i.e financial hardship ,medical reasons etc i'd say this would be the best bet now or you could mcol them which is quicker but there is a fee.

We are under financial hardship. We have been on reduced payments on our mortgage for the last year, this agreement has now come to an end and we have recently gone up to full mortgage payments.
Also made agreements with both credit cards to freeze the interest and form a payment plan.
    I suppose this all qualifies??
Do I disclose this to th FOS?

    Thanks
    Lily

Would a third party be permitted to call you place of employment and ask about rotas etc?? Certainly my firm would never ever give that information out?? In doing that did they not act illegally??

Hi all - I am very new to this and really wanted to see if anyone could confirm something for me?

Firstplus have agreed to refund me, i signed the letter and sent it back. They got this on the 25th August.

My PPI refress letter states 6 - 8 weeks (This seems awfully long to write a cheque!)

My question is, has anyone actually received their PPI cheque from Firstplus? As in have they actually started to send them?

Does anyone know what happen now - is it just a case of working through the backlog and just sending out the cheques?

Really hope someone can help - thanks

    Trudy
There have been cheques paid to FP winners this week, hopefully you wont wait too much longer.
  • Hi thanks for the reply - so is the 6 - 8 week think a backside coverer for FP?

As in it is likley to be sooner?

    Thanks:j

  • Hi Guys,

    quick recap ...

I have a First Plus loan which incorporated a previous First Plus loan - I wrote to them last Thursday requesting repayment of the PPI paid on both loans and restructuring of the current loan to run as if PPI hadn't been included ..

I recieved my first response from First Plus this morning and would like some advice, the letter in it's entirety is as follows:

    "Dear Mr ***,

I am sorry you have had to contact us regarding the sale of your payment protection insurance policy. Thank you for taking the time and trouble to do so.

However, I note from the account that the loan was brokered by 21st Direct Limited. As such we are unable to investigate the sale of the insurance policy. As 21st Direct Limited have ceased trading you may find it useful to contact the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS), 7th Floor, Loyds Chambers, 1 Portsoken Street, London, E1 8BN.

Please find enclosed a copy of the 21st Direct Limited application form originally completed by you for your records, if you require any information on how your claim will be handled please contact FSCS.

    Yours sincerely etc."

Included is a photocopy of the paperwork we completed at the time of the original loan - £7500 with Single Cover PPI ticked !

This letter appears to be about the first, now consolidated, loan only.

What do I do now ?
  • Morning
Congratulations to all who had success this week.
I am having a nightmare with my acceptance letter to RBS. I sent them recorded delivery on 1st Sept and they still havent been delivered. Called PO and was advised that they usually deliver within 5 working days however under terms and conditions they have 15 working days to deliver mail!! I called RBS and they are sending out copies for me and advised to check with them if originals have turned up before I spend money on special next day delivery. I checked with him re payout times and he stated maximum time for payout was 28 working days. So the upshot is pay for the special delivery!!

Just spoke to someone else, And they told me that an error has been made, And to call back next week to see when the remainder will be sent out to me, Unfortunatly i have a feeling that this will involve another 7 week wait

So frustrating I know, but at least they have admitted the error which makes things easier.
Ok as annoying as it is, if you hear nothing by Monday, chase them again and tell them you need your money NOW.
Or send a quick letter to them in the post today so that they receive it on Monday and tell them how disappointed you feel about this, and request they refund the remainder by the end of next week or you will be considering asking for further redress for the distress and inconvenience caused.
(If you want to that is), that may shift them, good luck x

    Hi Roxy

    How annoying.
Send another to attract their attention, tell them the FSA have given the 16 weeks and you've heard nothing, and you will appreciate some feedback on this matter or you will contact the FSA (not the FOS) who arranged these timescales and complain how you don't feel your being treated fairly.

    Suibject it - URGENT!

Or give them a quick phone call, they must let you know where this is. Good luck x:)
Hope they get back this time, good luck.
