Hi All not sure if this is a win or not ???
Example 1
A 4 year loan of £2,500 plus PPI of £519.43 was taken out in july 2003 at an interest rate of 13.1% APR The loan was repaid at the end of its term.
Total PPI Premiums paid (inclusiveof interest at 13.1% £665.66
Simple interest at 8% £326.07
Total offer £991.73
Example 2
A 3 year loan of £2,500 plus PPI of £465.89 was taken out in october 2003 at an interest rate of 15.7%APR the loan was setteled early in may 2006.In may 2004 a sucessful claim against the PPI policy for £174.39 was made.
Total PPI premiums paid (inclusive of interest at 15.7% £588.16
simple interest at 8% £295.59
Preiously accepted claim £174.39
Total offer £709.36 That is with the £174.39 deducted
Example 3
A 6 year loan of £9,700 inclusive of PPI was taken out in november 2007 at a interest reate of 8.1% APR.The loan is still open. This loan had been refinanced from two previous loans taken out in 2004 and 2006. The PPI sales in relation to the 2004 and 2006 loans were also considered (both had interest rates of 14.9%) We decided to make an offer in relatin to the 2006 and 2007 loans but not the 2004 loan.
Total PPI Premiums paid inclusive of interest at 8.1% 2007 loan £1,445.08
simple interest at 8% £223.11
Total PPI premiums paid inclusive of interest at 14.9% 2006 loan £339.51
Simple interest at 8% £172.37
Excess balance and interest (see explanation) for 2006 loan £ 17.92
Total offer £2,207.99
As tthe 2007 loan and PPI policywere still open we also cancelled the PPI and amended the 2007 loan to reduce the monthly payments
SO is my total offer £2,207.99
Thanks for all the help i have had from this forum im of to sort the credit cards out next
thanks again oggie
Sorry for the bad typing
These are just examples given by the Halifax when they send a letter out saying you have won. You need to send the acceptance form back in the enclosed envelope. Make sure you date and sign it and if its in joint names then your partner should also date and sign. There is a pre paid envelope for you to send it back in.
They will then work out your figures and send these through to you.
Hope this makes things clearer.

Hi
Quick question, has anyone had an email response when they emailed Ian O'Doherty at MBNA and if so how quickly?
Don't want to harrass them but seeing as they are giving me the runaround don't want them resting on their laurels.
This is the timeline so far
7th Jan 2011 Letter Confirming receipt response with 28 days
2nd Feb Letter saying investigations taking longer than anticapted response due 2nd March 2011
Missing letter received in March stating paperwork had bee misplaced and could I resend
5th May Letter saying would have a response in 28 days
23rd May Letter saying investigations taking longer than anticipated and response due 20th June
20th June Letter saying due to unforeseen circumstacnes taking longer to resolve response due within 21 days
24th June Letter saying insuffiecient info
The info was on the FOS questionnaires and has now been sent 3 times!
Emailed him on Monday 5/9

The customer support told me it was a physical signature. Again, I probably never paid attention to what I was signing and just wanted to finish the application form.
What makes this a bit different is, in early 2008 I was involved in a serious road traffic accident and was being treated for traumatic brain injury at that time also. May explain my lack of attention or fully understanding of what I was signing at the time.
I don't know if that detail can be used to my benefit though. Any suggestions?
Ring them back and ask for a copy of the agreement with your sig on,this may not be "available" but if you get this and the date is after you had your accident and you can get proof from a doctor of your condition, you may just get somewhere with this.
If they give excuses as to why they cannot give you this form with sig on,tell them it is fine and that you will take this to FOS.0 -

Hi there, you need to find out who the insurer was,if you ring your catalogue they should tell you this. Can anyone please help? Put in claim for PPI against catalogue, they rang me other day, asking how it was taken out, why i didnt notice charges before hand, etc. I told them i dont recall signing, for PPI, took catalogue out over phone, and ive mislaid policy documents,
Had letter today from them, upholding my complaint, due to the fact, that, if i wanted to cancel policy i had 30 days to cancel, which i did not. And as they say the insurance was taken out over the phone, i have no paper work. And because i took out catalogue in 2001 the FOS will not be able to adjudicate my complaint as catalogue people was not a member of a Dispute Resolution Service.
Does this mean that there is nothing more i can do???????????????
Give FOS a ring
http://www.financial-ombudsman.org.uk/contact/index.html
And ask if the insurer was covered in 2001,they will help you with this info, and tell you what to do,if they were then you put a complaint into the insurer and if they say no,the FOS can help.
If the ppi is still going on your catalogue payment, then ring and cancel this (if you havent already).0 -

As I'm sure you understand that as a long time, loyal customer I feel very let down and am hoping that perhaps you can help me. I am reluctant to take this complaint to the FOS but if I don't recieve a reply within 14 days I will have no alternative but to do so.
Hope this helps.(not trying to tell you how to write your letters or what to do!) Good Luck
