    Hi Niggly,

Many thanks for calculating these figures. I forgot to tell you that the letter Halifax sent to me was photocopied and at the ends it was black like the printer was about to burn or something. I tried today to visit one of their branches so that one of their staff can verify this is true and then email them my concern as well asking them to re-calculate. Yesterday, I tried calling them but was kept holding for ages, I had to hang up. I want to try emailing the CEO again this time with a copy of my discharge letter. Do you this, this is a good idea?

yes why not give it go it won't hurt will it.

I made a PPI Claim to halifax 01/07/11 for loans and credit cards anyone any idea when I would get a reply?

apparently 16 weeks from when they acknowledge your complaint some say, and others say 16 weeks from when they receive it.

Halifax i must say (personally at the moment they dealt with mine b4 the 16wks deadline) are quite good, just give them a call and ask approx when you may expect a present position.you may be on hold for a while, but its only the cost of a phone call ;)

sorry ryan you might have a problem with this one, the fos seem to side with cap 1 rather too much for my liking, i'm not trying to be negative i have found this myself as i have a cap 1 case in with the fos at the moment which is being forwarded to the ombudsman. you could try mcol again but there is a fee attached to using them. good luck

Hi Cappo. Yeah I was thinking pretty much the same. I thought there would be a chance since I've been told by a friend who works in a bank that they are giving refunds, even when the PPI was explained completely to the customer etc at the time it was agreed to be taken etc.

I've kinda made my peace with it and have cancelled it from charging any further.

Thanks so much for getting back to me though! :D
  • Hi All

this is my first post on here and would like to say a massive thanks to all the helpers out there :A
I i'm 2 weeks off my deadline with hsbc, i am now ringing them everyday on the 0800 881155 number, to be told sorry we are still looking into it we have all documents but are waiting on a decision :(
I have had several consolidation loans from hsbc over the years and each time I was told I had to have the ppi or they wouldnt give me the loan.... just wondered if any of the success stories on here have had there claim upheld because of similar issues....
I'm just far to excited about getting this money back and im worried im getting my hopes up to have a big bump down to earth.

I spoke to a lady at hsbc a few weeks ago that explained they have to get statements from the people who sold me the loan, what happens if theyve left or more likly cant remember?

Thanks so much , and big well dones to all the winners out there :j

Hi ryan i'd still put it in though if you feel you have been misold, i cancelled my credit card ppi as well, as you say it stops it building up and you can do this with a card, i'd still have a go though, cap 1 are a hard nut to crack but there have been wins on here and depending on your reasons for claiming you might be one of the lucky ones. good luck

Hi aime this is how i won my hsbc misolds i had the same issues as well as no information at point of sale, medical issues etc, they will decide on
evidence of probability namely whether the ppi was fair in your circumstances and whether you could have claimed on it, if you were told you had to have it to get the loan it was a misale and if the loan was one of the older ones that was frontloaded thats also a misale as they would'nt have explained that you'd be paying interest on the ppi as well.

    Hi Clissold,

I have not sent an acceptance letter as yet because I have an issue with Halifax. They sent me a photocopied letter with the ends black. I am thinking of contacting their CEO., but first I want to go to their branch so that they can be witnessess that the letter they sent me was photocopied and then signed. I have also want them to re-calculate the amount.

Hi pepsi, depending on who is issuing the cheques some lenders have been given up to 8 weeks to carry out calculations and pay the redress. it's shocking, some take this long and others are really quick.
Thanks to all the competition posters.
