  • have i been paying ppi...

so i sent off the initial letter asking for my terms and conditions and information on my account.

I have an account with house of fraser and topshop...both santander. so obviously both are identical contracts, i see nothing on either of them about PPI.. all i see is a box saying

'i wish to purchase shopping cover' which is un ticked and unsigned by myself, its left blank.

A separate box below this says

' agreement signed for and on behalf of GE capital bank limited' where a employee has signed and dated.

my question is how can i tell from my bill if ive been paying PPI...

in some old bills the amount due is say £31.73 (interest on this being £14.77 and the balance now due is £793.26) in the letter i received back from santander it says the minimum payment is the sum of interest, ppi premiums , and charges plus 1% of your remain balance.....this would total £22 something..?!

    please help im confused....

Hi there, with the balance you owe (as you stated above) and the monthly payment,it doesnt look like ppi is on there to be honest,i could be wrong though, someone who is good with figures may post and give you more info about this.

The letter you have from Santander is letting you know what the minimum payment is broken down, this could be for an account that may have ppi and not referring to your account specifically,if it were they would have said what ppi amount you were paying with your monthly payment.
I thought ppi would be shown as a seperate item on your statement and not lumped in with the monthly payment and interest.
As i said,i could be wrong,so hang on for others who can help you more with this.

They told me on the phone, that if I choose to be paid directly into a bank account, the money would be available between 3 - 5 days after they recieve my signed agreement, which to me looks like a standard BACS payment.

So whats the odds that they will actually process a payment the day they recieve my signed agreement..... I'm not holding my breath!
