PPI Reclaiming Discussion part 4

Just realised I posted this in the wrong thread last night. I nice lady gave me some advice but thought no harm in putting it into the correct and getting other opinions too:
I received all my Egg Card terms and conditions through in the post today, however, I cannot find any mention of PPI within them, either accepting it or declining it. It might simply be that I haven't seen it so if someone would be so kind as to point towards the correct location or some helpful hints in what I'm looking for that would be most helpful. The actual document (Egg Card Agreement) that has my signature is only 2 pages long, which seems awful short for an agreement. The terms and conditions are quite lengthy however.
When I received similar information from Aviva it was pretty obvious and straight forward where the PPI information was.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
My signature appears on the 2nd page. No mention of PPI on either page or throughout the terms and conditions. I'd have thought that the PPI box would be displayed, ticked or unticked, no matter what. Just seems a bit odd.
My statements when logging into egg only go back 2 years. There appears to be no mention of extra payments in those 2 years. But I've no idea what it would show up as it it did. But the fact you suggest it would, and it doesn't, seems to indicate that I might not have it. Shame if so, a cheque qould be nice! ha
I think a quick phone call tomorrow to double check might be the easiest solution.0 -
This is my first post - so apologies if I have broken any etiquette rules!
Briefly - I have a £25,000 loan, taken out in 2005 from First Direct. The PPI on this is a total of £7,819!! I know - scandalous. This is not the interest - believe me, I have looked at this long and hard.
Unfortunately, I was laid off for a few months and made a claim - which in itself was ridiculous as it didn't pay out until after I had sorted myself out.
Do I have any right to claim because of the scale of the PPI charges - which I believe to be very high indeed?
I suspect there will be a resounding no - but would be interested on any views.
Thanks.
Good luck and please keep us posted.0 -

Give them a ring and ask if they can go further back, you may have had it put on at some point but then it could have been taken off.0 -
Hi there, it doesnt matter if you have claimed on the ppi,if you win mis sell, they will take this off the amount they owe you.
Good luck and please keep us posted.
Thanks. When I took out the loan, I was employed - so don't see how I can claim mis-selling. But look at what they charged! Does that come into this at all?0 -
Hi,
Have put a complaint in against misselling against HFC, it has been logged by them since the 28th of June, finally got a letter responding to me in the first instance on 10th August. However the letter states that a questionaire was enclosed, so that I can write in my own words what happened. My problem is no questionaire, I have phoned twice regarding this and spending about 10/15 mins at a time trying to get through, I keep getting fobbed ie its in the post give it a bit longer. I am now 3 weeks down the line and still nothing - Is there anyone I can complain to, such as ICO ?
As I have better things to do with my time, rather than continually chasing them up?
Many thanks0 -

Can anyone recommend a good company to go with to claim PPIfrom credit card companies, or is there a way to do it myself.
Thanks in anticipation0 -

Hi and welcome
We do not normally suggest using claims companies to be honest as its less work to have a go yourself with just a matter of completing a reclaim questionnaire which is the complaint, send it to whoever set up and sold you the account, (complaints of head office), keep a copy for yourself.
The FSA have given the main of the banks extra time, so they business will confirm this to you if this is required, good luck and please let us know how you get on, cheers.
The reclaim questionnaire is as below on step 3 and this way you get to keep all what is owed to you.;)
