  • I'm sure someone has probably asked this but i can't see it in the thread. I think i was mis-sold the PPI on my credit card and would like to make a claim. The only thing is last year was i was made redundant i used the PPI to pay back some of my outstanding balance.

Can i still make a claim?

Hi there,it would depend on what your reasons for mis sell were, you cannot say that you did not know you had it,as you claimed on it,also it covered you for unemployment,so reasons for mis sell would be limited.
If you have other reasons for mis sell then put a claim in,but if you win the redress will take off what they have paid out on the policy.

look here for reasons for mis sell

  • thanks that helps, the reason i think i was mis-sold is that i didn't know i had it until i phone them to say i was struggling to pay. I'll put in a claim and see what happens, it can't do any harm

Spoke to RBS yesterday and they confirmed that they are on track to send out all letters by 31st August. If your claim has been upheld you will have to then sign the letter and return it to them. It will then take them EIGHT to TWELVE weeks to get the money to you. What on earth is difficult about electronic transfers. I'm sure if I owed them money then they would not wait that long. I'm sure they will lose loads of customers after this.

Yes its strange if you go o/d they always manage to get a letter out asap! 8 - 12 weeks is just ridiculous! They have been sitting on my claim since july 2010 and done nothing. They told me last august that they were waiting to speak to the person who dealt with my loan at the branch and I pointed out that the 2 employees concerned no longer worked with them so they were well caught out. I will be moving my account once I get my money although I cant think of another bank who is any different.

    Hi

Follow the link that our amersall have left, many have still been successful in making a reclaim even though they have made a claim, it could be that it would pay out for one thing and not the other, in this case as amersall says whatever is due they will pay plus interest, minus what they've used to pay for your claim.

    Good luck.;)
