PPI Reclaiming Discussion part 4

If it is similar to the letter I received from NatWest it said we will endeavour to pay within 28 working days.
I returned an acceptance letter on 10th June and eventually received payment last week.
Thanks yes that was written in the letter which i think is wrong, they shouldn't say that if they have no intention of paying in 28 days. Looks like we will have to just wait.
Thanks also to Cappo for your reply.0 -
Many thanks for your time and trouble in posting that information Smitchy. I do feel that many of the clauses you stated 'ring true.' I'm sorry to ask you further but should I state as many reasons as I believe are true (given the information you have provided) in the PPI Consumer Questionnaire I have been asked to complete? I'm really not good with this kind of thing at all.0

My question is I have just been looking up all account and was refiling all the paperwork when I found a letter to my partner dated 12th Aug 2011 re his ppi on his loan with santander- hes self employed he has medical problems hence being self employed and only working part time, I pay all the bills his only outgoing is his loan, which he took out in Feb this year. When I asked him about the letter he said he felt he would only get the loan if he agreed to it-but its useless.
I was so upset at Santander I typed an email and he sent it asking for his premiums back and that the ppi be removed.
Am I right that ppi is no good for self employed people and do people suggest I fill out the claim for or wait until I get an email reply?
Thanks
Lisa
Hi Lisa and not a problem.;)
Some will cover for self employment and some will not, I would ask them for a copy of the policy details which they should provide free of charge on request, but in regards of pre med conditions is also another reason, for example if a claim was put in on a condition that was there when the policy was sold they will not pay out.
Personally I would complete the reclaim questionnaire as well, just to make sure they deal with the complaint, and keep a copy, you have one then in case you need to make a complaint to the FOS as your proof of making a reclaim.
As below on step 3, hope this helps, good luck.

1) I have been helping an aunt to claim and its been a success however Barclays decided to payout to her IVA company. The cheque was sent to her address but the IVA company was rather named. The IVA payments are still in force.
Is she not the one entitled to some or all of of the money as the 8% interest is in her regard as she was deprived of that?
She is happy to use the money to continue her monthly payments but I want to know the legality of this arrangement.
2) On a Halifax Mortgage - Can you claim back the Mortgage Repayment Protector Insurance if you believe it was missold. The bank clerk I spoke to with my aunt claims those were regulated products. If she was not made aware it was optional is that a cause for a complaint?
Thanks in advance for your advice.0 -
Hi there, well done on your aunts win !.
Regarding the iva, i believe they can take a refund towards this,i am not too sure about the 8% but i think this should be given back to your aunt,as you say she has been deprived of this.
It may be worth giving the iva people a ring and the bank to double check this.
Regards the Mortgage ppi,you will get more help if you post this question here

Well done Fi :T:j & Congratulations!
I'm sure someone will be along to check these soon x;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
me again, I'm trying to work out what I owe Welcome Finance and reclaiming the PPI will take this balance to near zero or below Zero (I hope)
But before I claim I need for my own benefit to work out what I owe them, Does anyone have a formula to put in excel or a calculator that will do this for me?
Or if I give someone the figures could they work it out for me?
I have the original amount owed, a list of the dates and amounts of payments made, a list of the amount and dates of interest added (i'm sure some of these have wrong figures)
I have the apr figure (44.3%) and the interest was accrued on a daily basis on the debit amount at a rate of 3% per month
Anyone able to help? or do I just "trust welcome"?0 -
