Hi guys can anyone on here possibly give me any help, i have received an offer of sorts from hsbc without admission of liability offering to settle "on this occasion" now i think this sounds suspiciously like an offer of "goodwill" i don't know but when hsbc sends me a proposal i think it's going to be minus any interest as according to them they've not officially upheld, now the question can i accept any monies offered and chase the bank through the fos/fsa for the interest, accept a partial settlement as it were without closing the claim,i would really appreciate any help with this guys as i need a contingency plan ready to go at a moments notice, thanks for any advice in advance.

    Hi Cappo

So they did not actually mention about putting you back in the position as if you had no PPI?

I tried to reclaim PPI on a £5000 natwest loan back in 2009 (i think), natwest said it wasn't mis-sold but as a gesture of goodwill for being a good customer offered me £750 as settlement...

My question is do anyone think it is worth trying to get the whole amount based on the recent ruling or am i flogging a dead horse?
Hi there,if you took the money and signed in full and final, then i dont think you will get far with this.

Hubby got Loan for a car at Renault Dealership, loan through Black Horse, who do i try claim PPI from? Renault or Black Horse?

    Thanks

    Hi there

You pursue the dealership head office or if they have a complaints dept send to them, by completing the reclaim questionnaire on step 3 below, remember to keep a copy in case you need to go back to this again at some point, good luck.
Black Horse is the bank arranged to debit the monthly payments.;)

Can anyone help please? I posted this on a different thread but nobody seemed able to help

Welcome Finance going to reclaim PPI etc
I must state i am in default and not paid the whole loan off as they refused to cancel the PPI when I told them 4 yrs ago so I stopped paying, but I'm going to do it properly this time.

They have sent me a couple of letters demanding money that I'm not too concerned with at the moment, HOWEVER
the account number is a problem

The account number they have quoted in several letters since 2005/6 ends in 771

My account number quoted on the actual paperwork I signed for the loan ends in 711

Thankfully I kept the original paperwork

    What do I do?

Can they chase me for money for an account that is nothing to do with me? or what exactly should I do?

I have worked out that once I get the PPI refunded and the interest on it then they will end up owing me money.

If it matters the reason I wrote to them to cancel and refund the PPI in 2006 which they refused to do was I already claimed on a previous PPI I had with them in 2004 and noticed it stated in the policy booklet that I I did claim again it they wouldn't pay out so it was useless to me.

Anyway I'm digressing - What do I do about the wrong account number?

I thought at first it was a typo the 771 and 711 but its on ever letter/statement they have ever sent me

    Hi there

Sorry this was not responded to on the other thread.

What I think I would do is contact the CEO on this and tell them you believe there is a confusion on the accounts and enclose your account number you have and make them aware of the other account number, tell them its wrong that you have someone elses personal details and you will contact the Information Commissioners Office (ICO) to complain on this if this does not stop.

For more on the ICO (in case you want to contact them about this matter,:

    And details of Welcome CEO:

Hi there, see what the offer is first,if you do the calcs and it is not right then you will have to go back to HSBC and tell them you want full redress or you will take this to the FOS.
if you are not happy with the offer they will not part settle, you have to sign in "full and final",try to get them to pay you what you are due first and take it from there.

cheers lorraine thats great i've seen many offers where no liability is accepted and a full payout is made but i know hsbc are past masters at this and i'm expecting them to *+aft me to be honest,i might be pleasantly surprised but i doubt it.

Cappo, ask them to send you a detailed breakdown - so they can make it more clear of what is what, or email the CEO.;)

  • I complained to HSBC about my mis-sold PP! back in May, got the usual letters about investigating my complaint, and then the "it'll take 16 weeks" letter. I rang HSBC about my complaint, just to check it's progress 3 weeks ago, and they told me my complaint had been upheld and they had passed it on to calculations, and I should hear from them in the next couple of weeks. When I hadn't received anything I rang them yesterday and was told a lot of claims had to be recalculated, due to them mis -calculating, and I would have to wait to the end of August/beginning of September, coincidently that's exactly 16 weeks from the beginning of my claim. Is this usual for the bank to play slow-ball or have they genuinely had to re-calculate lots of claims?

First of all well done on your success!

There have been lots who have had dealings with these, and have recently been successful, will keep a check on the posts to see if they have had the same response as you.
I know they have backlogs and it's important they make no mistakes now, good luck and hope you receive your money soon, fingers crossed.;)

  • Hi

I had my claim upheld by Black Horse a couple of weeks ago and received a letter with the offer that I had to return. Any idea how long it takes for the money to be paid back once they receive the letter saying I have accepted the offer?

    Thanks
