If the CC's are still active then for £1 fee they should send you your t&c's and also statements and your signed agreement that being said that all depends how long ago this was taken out
If you can call into your local branch, they will be able to dig a little deeper and from my own experience have been helpful after a push in the right direction
If these methods fail to be fruitful lol then a SAR will be the next step like you have mentioned
But remember to make a claim you only really need a few details- Loan account number/ numbers OR CC account number/ numbers
- Start date
- Closing date
- Reason/ Reasons for being mis-sold
:D

Another letter yesrerday from HSBC to say they have 16 weeks to deal with my claim and its now logged

Hi citibird, hope you have better luck with your sar than mine, i refused to sign the request as it is not a requirement under the dpa 1998 act,the bank has asked for more id or a signature that i won't give them (for obvious reasons) i've finally agreed to pick up my sar from our local branch of the bank as the only id i've got now are a birth certificate,i wonder if my credit card statements are in there i've got cards going back to 1992 over 12 years when i was self employed no wonder they don't want to give me details lol.0 -
Hello,
I have a question. I received a letter from HSBC regarding my PPI claim for my credit card. But they are offering only for 6 years back, till 2005. I had a card since 2002 and of course I don’t have any statements or agreement left. HSBC says that they acknowledge that I had a credit from 2002, but as they only have to keep them for 6 years, they don’t have statements beyond that time. Is there anything else I can do to find proves of my statements?
Thank you0 -
Same thing happened to me but I spoke to the FOS and they suggested that HSBC should apply estimated premiums, based on the average monthly premium, to the years they didn't have records for. I proposed this to HSBC and they accepted the principle and did so.Its amazing how these banks can't even do simple calculations correctly..............0

Hsbc seem to be doing this a lot now, i would cca them which will cost you £1.00 for your statements or if you want to check everything over you can sar the bank which will cost you £10.00 the bank will then have to give you all the information they hold on you, inc electronically the bank has 12 days for the cca and 40 days to come up with the sar failure to deal with this would leave the bank open to a breach of the data protection act 1998 link for sar below.:) good luck
