ok guys good news i think
HFC are willing to settle with me for two loans for the amount of £2211.54 but i feel this is not enough (i may be wrong)
one loan has 4 months till it is complete and i pay 328 p.m. this started in Dec 2007 and the other loan was for 182p.m. and this finished four years ago but i had the loan out for 5yrs
does anyone know if this is right? or of a decent calculator which can work it out? or should i bite their hand off for the money?
Thanks0 -
I have spoken with my claims handler today and she told me that they are still waiting for information that they have requested from various departments, so mine is still at the collation stage.
Once all of the information for all of the accounts is received, it then reaches the queuing stage. Ie, my case will then be looked at in date order.
I think this answers everyone's question on "why are people's claims being dealt with before mine when they sent their's in months after me".
The date order applies to the cases that have all of the information ready to be assessed.
I just hope that on that given day, my case is the oldest there :rotfl:I'm a secret crime fighter

Hi,
I have ongoing claims against PPI and I was wondering if anyone can help and tell me if cancelling them will disadvantage me?
I was going through financial difficulties in 2007-2009 and was in process of arranging repayment plan with LTSB cc, when one of their advisers mentioned that I had PPI and told me that I could cancel it. I had seen this insurance on my statement and thought it was compulsary (don't remember getting asked about it, certainly didn't know it was optional as I was paying £50 at that time for the privilige of having it, feel very stupid now, especially as I was really struggling at the time and could have done without £50 being added to monthly total)
At the the same time I had a loan with BOS, which had PPI, which I knew about, but was advised to take as it would help me with credit application (I needed money)Anyway I decided to take a chance and write a letter to see if I could cancel this. They sent me a cheque for £350, which I gladly took at the time as I was skint!
But the PPI in total came to around £3000, have I blown myself out the water by accepting this?
Thanks0 -
so, its 5 weeks today that i sent my online enquiry to the fscs re my picture financial claim on my secured loan. two phone calls a week, told last week i am finally on the system and should expect something from them soon ...... fast forward to today, and still nothing so i called them up again. apparently it says on the system that they have now sent my application form through the post and it should be here anytime. i double checked what info they will need me to send to them with the forms (am on leave this week, and dont have access to works photocopier!) and it looks like i have copied everything already that i need to send off.

Hi there
Well done on the offer.
When they say settle, was it a offer of goodwill?
Or did they say they would put you back in the position as if you did not have ppi?
If the first one, then that could just be an offer they thing reasonable without taking any liabilities as such.
Niggly should be about at some point and I'm sure he will check the calcs out for you, although more details will be required I expect, he will then let you know.
Good luck.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"

Hi there
Thanks for posting up.
I am not sure if you can challenge this again, but there is no harm in trying, you could also mention that you now realise the seriousness of this since the FSA/Judicial Review matter previously.
Maybe others on here will have the right answers on this one for you, but otherwise give it a go anyway, good luck.:)The one and only "Dizzy Di"

You have not "blown yourself out of the water" here, a cancel is not a mis sell,so if you have reasons for mis sell then get your letter sent.Hi,
