So I submitted my PPI claim against Natwest on 9th May 2011, RBS wrote back confirming it was received on 19th May 2011 4 weeks past I get the letter telling me it will take 8 weeks, just before the 8 weeks are up I get another letter telling me about the FSA allowing up to 16 weeks which isn't far off now.
I've rang RBS twice before today people had been very helpful and told me they were gathering the information, I rang to day and the guy I spoke to said he can only tell me my claim is on there system and no more, I told him about the last 2 calls to them and he said well I can't tell you anything other than it's in our system, think that isn't very helpful at all, is this normal when ringing, has something happened/ going to happen ?, or was the guy just in I can't be bothered mood.0 -

Lots of paranoia at the moment. Its a kid just been taken on to screen calls. In front of him is a computer. The computer says................If you want a more proactive conversation talk to one of the supervisors. There the ones without the spots and they may not be able to give you the answer you want but asked nicely they will tell you the timescales. Its a waiting game for us all now I am afraid. I live in Leeds some big HO here and they are desperate for new staff to deal. £10 per hour.....mm I might be making a call.

Hoping somebody can offer me some advice!!!
I wrote to Natwest, enclosing a cheque for £1, requesting a copy of my credit agreement for my loan, in order to put in a claim for my PPI.
I heard nothing for 5 weeks and so wrote again, pointing out that they had taken my £1 but not send me any information.
This morning I received a letter from Natwest telling me that my loan agreement has been misfiled and they have been unable to locate it. Their record of the loan has insufficient detail for them to recreate the agreement.
The letter goes on to say that they are now unable to enforce payment of the loan should I decide not to meet my payment obligations, and that my default would be reported to the credit reference agencies as section 77 (4) only prevents them from pursuing this through the courts.
The PPI I believe I am owed is almost as much as the outstanding amount on the loan.... is it possible they're pulling a fast one here? What should my next steps be?
Any advice gratefully appreciated!0 -

Hi Sykes1978, I rang RBS twice this week got the same kind of 'helpful' response along the lines of "We will be dealing with your claim by 31st August and I can't tell you what stage it's at blah blah blah" (mine has been on 'hold' due to the JR) I've no choice but to sit it out I'm afraid and wait 4 more weeks . My only advice is make a log of the dates and times you called just incase, they don't meet the required dates.0 -
Oh I'm pretty sure we'll find something else to complain about, I go through these periods where I have a 'project' bore her to tears with it, then move on to something else, but at least with this project i'm not spending money, other than stamps for reclaiming, hehe, I have told her that if she hates all this reclaiming ppi that if we win the case i'll keep the money then she shows the love, lol. Money talks as they say.Another one, i bore the pants off my other half talking about ppi as well, what are we going to do when it's all over? Thanks to all the competition posters.0 -

I can only imagine what your way of dealing with these complaints would be...in favour, in favour, in favour, pre 2005, never mind in favour, don't think you'd last long though, lol.
However, if you happen to go to Clydesdale/Yorkshire, can you look for mine's and find in favour, please, beers on me:beer:Thanks to all the competition posters.0 -
Good evening all, I recently sent letters to previous creditors regarding mis-selling of PPI, I have had several responses stating they are unable to trace any details of my credit agreements. I was only able to provide partial account numbers as detailed on my credit report as all of the original paperwork has long been shredded. My address and name has not changed though. Is this delaying tactics of theirs? Where do I go from here?
I have also had a couple of responses from MBNA advising that I contact via telephone to discuss my claims with them. Is this advisable? Is there a written procedure/idiots guide that I can follow? I think i caught sight of one a while back but can't seem to find it now.
thanks in advance for your co-operation.

Have you sent them a SAR with a £10 postal order?
If so and that didn't work, contact Equifax or Experian (whoever your credit report is from) and tell them that you have no recollection of the credit agreements and that you have contacted the institutions and they have no records either.
Tell them you think a mistake has been made and that you want the agreements removing from your credit file.
The first step is that Equifax contact the lenders to tell them to prove that you did in fact have the credit.
The second step is that you will receive a letter from the individual institutions telling you that the agreements cannot be removed from the credit file for 6 years.
The full account number will be on the letters.
It is amazing how they can suddenly locate them when they don't think it will involve losing ££££s

Thanks for the advice. No I did not send SAR, do I still need to at this stage? Can I not contact Equifax and ask for the information be removed from my credit file as neither I nor my lender have any record of it?
