Hi john the problem and it's one that capital one exploit to there advantage is that they sell there cards and ppi on a non advised basis this means (according to them) that you have to make sure the card and insurance is suitable for you,so in effect you have to become an insurance salesman) so to speak, confusing and a down right con as the minute they get caught out they bleat "non advised" this is there get out of jail free card.

:( So it looks like nothing then. :(

I agree, do not give up. My husband has just had his complaint upheld with Capital One, as he was self-employed whilst he had his credit card with them, and all we did was send a complaint template letter stating this fact and got the good news two weeks ago. All these banking organisations want people to give up, that is why they are making it as difficult as they can. Good luck.

Make time, even if you do it in the wee hours over the weekend.

If it takes you 2 hours, imagine what that will pay on an hourly rate if it is upheld. :money:

I agree Bigjohnuk, it may be worth an extra couple of hours of being awake if it can help your case, and you might feel worse if you can't send something in and end up with it being rejected, amersall and niggly are also very good with wording of letters etc, but remember from the email from FOS they only need any extra details if there are any, they don't need the full details all over again.
Hope this helps, if I could I would do the letter for you! It would save me driving the Mrs up the wall talking about the ppi stuff all night, lol.
Thanks to all the competition posters.

I know what your saying it's too easy getting there unfortunately, ppi has been a very big chunk of peoples indebtedness in the last 10 years or so, i'm glad people are starting to fight back and claim what they have had taken from them, good luck on your reclaims, should put you in a much better position,i've got 5 front loaded hsbc claims in, 2 credit cards and another 12 years worth of 2 credit cards with LTSB (if i can ever get the bank to accept that i have ppi on the cards):)
