PPI Reclaiming Discussion part 4

  • Hello all.

In May I had a claim for miss-sold PPI upheld from Abbey (Santander) and they awarded me all the PPI and paid it into my account. All good so far. In the letter they stated that the PPI would now be cancelled (for the remainder of the loan period, 12 months) and that "the payments will be reduced TO £34 a month had PPI not been taken". Now it is obvious to me that this should have read BY £34 a month. Anyhoo, my monthly payment came off on the 1st of the month, as usual, and there was no reduction in the total. Now I have to contact them to remove the PPI again, should I pursue the fact that I have it in writing from them that the payment should now be £34 or am I being really naive?

    Thanks
    Chris.

Hi there, you should contact the bank ASAP!!! tell them what they should have done and you want the extra ppi payment back with interest that you have just made and they must do this immediately or you will put a complaint into the FOS.

Thanks for the vote of confidence cappo :A:A:A:A

You have made me blush now :o:o:o

To all posters, when you have a win, please make sure that the banks are resetting the loan.
Some on here have had trouble with this.

Keep on your toes and check and double check.

:Tcongratulations to everyone who has recently had claims upheld
The 4 weeks from yorkshire bank was up today, so sent an email asking for an update as there was no letter though letterbox this morning just got this response

I can confirm that your complaint is still being investigated. We have sent you an update letter dated 15/7/2011, which will still be in post.

once this has been done a Handler will be in touch with your office and the customer with their decision.

We are working in strict date order to treat our customers fairly and as such I cannot give out any expectant timescales. Please be assured your complaint will be dealt with in due course. In the meantime we will continue to send you updates on a 4 weekly basis.

    Kind Regards

    PPI Team nse.
surprised i got a quick reply as i havent in the past, i did copy the ceo in on email;)
    Chester,
Got the same reply as yourself a couple of days ago, I think last Thursday or Friday saying letter dated 12th July(4 wk anniversary) was sent, received it yesterday, the 18th. Had details for FOS etc but not worth waiting for them for 18 months when they might come back in a few more weeks with a good decision.
    Good luck
Thanks to all the competition posters.

i think guys the ones that are taking so long to sort out and are not being looked at quickly are the ones that will be eventually be upheld,i feel that if these cases were being rejected as our di and ian say they would have been rejected quickly and that does make sense:)

Hi all, I had a Barclaycard credit card a few years back and ended up not being able to pay it at the time. The debt eventually went to Lowells and I am paying it off through them. Its about £500 odd pounds and I cant remember whether it had ppi. I almost definately would have had it because I thought you had to at the time. Would I be able to claim this back and would it go straight to Lowells. Also I have no paperwork and dont Bank with Barclays. What is my next step please anyone.
