Hi there,
Well when I spoke to someone at Halifax Customer Services the other week I asked this question. The lady said that all the complaints that were submitted before 5th May 2011 have got to be sorted by 31st august. No ifs or buts they have got to of reached a decision by then. I guess its the same for the ones with the 16 week extension.
Hope this helps

Hi lauzflow, they have to be done by this extension date,or they'll be huge fsa fines,i have heard on the grapevine the banks are having panic attacks about getting done at the moment.0 -

Indeed.
Failure is not an option apparently.
I would imagine that this will mean more will be upheld and the redress just calculated rather than faffing about, which wastes time.
They are unlikely to just reject complaints leading up to the deadline as this will look like a deliberate stalling tactic and FOS/FSA will take a very dim view of that.
The FSA will start dishing out fines soon if complaints continue to be upheld by FOS after being rejected by banks.I'm a secret crime fighter

Hi Marksman...nothing in particular, thanks...just one of those days, and the rain never stopped, so everything wet and gloomy.:(
Although this forum is good for cheering up!
However, today is another day...and am certain that for some on this forum there will be letters and phone calls to shout about...:):) x0 -

Hi Cappo, this is interesting...do you think the threat of fines will have a real impact on how they speed up this process? Also, wouldn't it be a real positive if the threat of fines stopped some banks, such as Cap One, just saying no to almost every claim?:)0
